Tiny amp

I went to GC's with the intention of seeing this amp and playing it. I was surprised to see the picture of it on the Internet looks like the grill cloth is gray, which I liked...I was disappointed to see it was actually cream colored rather than vintage grey. This was an immediate disappointment for me... The amp was set up and just needed a speaker cable connected to get sound through it. I noticed right away the input into the speaker was plastic and rather cheap. I plugged it in and tried out both channels. The first channel was good, clean sounded decent and the red light indicated crunch which was accurate. However the second channel failed miserably in my opinion. The overdrive was nothing more than crunch with a tad bit of gain...The red light indicated overdrive2 and that seemed to create more re-verb rather than lead distortion.

I cranked this amp almost all the way up on both channel volume and master gain and it seemed very weak for a so-called 100watts RMS.

I wasn't buying this amp to use for a band, it's not what I wanted it for. Truthfully had it had the gray speaker cloth and some mall ump I would consider buying it.

The red and wheat colored cloth are horrible looking... Can't Marshall make a trasister amp with more power and use the same colored speaker cloth they use on their Haze line. Offer the tolex in Red or Black with the gray front! (If they did I would buy it, I wish)...

Massive Marshall Tone

When I first heard of this amp I was highly skeptical that it would sound good. Having had experience with the previous MG series, I underestimated this amp. Before I actually review this amp I must tell you, This amp is for beginners to hobbyists. If you are in a serious band and are looking for an upgrade, check out some other amps. Here's what I think of this amp as far as sound, quality, and price range goes: As far as the sounds of this amp goes, it is probably one of the best sounding solid state amps in its price range. It is also one of the most versatile ones due to the dampening system and the dsp effects. I have noticed that at higher volumes this amp loses a lot of its charm, but what solid state wouldn't? The quality seems to be great, but I wouldn't attempt to tour with it because it is a cheaper amp. For the price, it rocks! From the cool red tolex to the improved "Marshall" sound, this amp rocks.

I been playing guitar for 13 years now and this Marshall has been one of the best amps that i used in my recording studio. Many people have requested to use only this amp while recording. The tone of the amp is bueatiful, it sound like a bird chirpping in the forest! When mixing with other heads its almost perfect, it sounds amazing with actually all heads.
