I just bought the Marshall mg 30 fx and I must say, I'm not pleased. The amp does have a nice clean sound but in order to get a decent sound for myself, I have to hook up an overdrive tube screamer pedal. The amp does ok by itself, but much nicer to me with the pedal. This is only my opinion, it's all in the person who uses an amp and what they like. For me this amp is a step back for marshall. Could have done better. Nowhere near a Peavey viper or line six, and I own both, not to mention alot more bells and whistles for the same price. Agin, this is only my opinion.

I just picked this baby up at my local music store,and let me tell you ,it is the best amp that i ever had,i've played crate ,fender,epi.,line 6 spider 3,and this this beast out beats them all,it has everything a guitarist wants,from effects (which are all wonderful) and from nice clean sound to a heart POUNDING distortion (metal, metal, metal),you will not be unhappy at all,once you go Marshall, you'll never have any other amp, atleast i won't,so go get yourself one.

i have been playing for a long time and i love this amp i usually play my paul reed smith through it, or my fender strat or my L.P. custom, or my evh wolfgang. it is definetly loud enough for small gigs. or you can mic it and use it for larger gigs, in fact i have gigged wit it several times. i actually play this amp more then my fender hot rod deville and peavey valveking. the overdruve is better then my tube amps and effects pedals. i play rock, blues, funk, and some country and everything from SRV to CCR to van halen to chet atkins

I got an MG30 a couple of years ago and haven't really used it. I dug it out about a week ago because I rearranged things and, man, is it Great. The clean is wonderful and the overdrive is just so satisfying. It doesn't have to be loud to give the gutsy, warm, full sound that it does, but, then again: man, can it get loud. I didn't want to become a Marshall advertisement but that's what I'm becoming. There are reasons why so many swear by Marshall. This one won't be my last.
