Great sounding distortion and clean. The effects sound pretty cool. The knobs are easily broken - be careful when putting it in your trunk! The distortion channel is pretty good, but not much control over volume, once you roll your guitar's volume up to about 1.5 the volume leaps up - there is no in between. It is either full on distortion or clean. This amp can get load as hell. I got mine for way cheap - I think it was a floor model. I don't know if I would spend this much on it though. A couple hundred more and you could get a tube amp..

Loud rock'n'roll punch. Got the MG for Christmas '08. For a non-tube amp, I am quite satisfied. Dial up the bass on the distortion channel and a strat will sing, scream, moan, groan, cry and wail while using the bridge single coil. Power and open chords are well defined with each note crystal clear. Minor, 9ths and 7ths sound just as good. Awesome tone for a non-tube amp. I run the gain at 3/4, the bass at 3/4, the 'contour' at 3/4, and the treble at 2/3. With a very, very short delay setting and no reverb, my strat, when slaved to this amp, ROCKS. Think Classic Brown Sound.

Bought this amp about a year ago. Have had no problems with a loud fan like others. The distortion is great, you just have to work with it to get what you want. The clean is really bassy but for the music I play it sounds good. Is definatly very loud which is what I wanted since my drummer is a caveman. I would definaly recommend it over other amps of the same price range. The effects are ok too, but nothing special. Just play the one you want to buy because two of the same models will sound different. Make your lazy guitar store employee take it out the box.

This was is a really good for giving you a Good Marshall sound. That is if your in your basement or somethin like that. You wont have one problem woth this with the volumes low.()which is still loud..very loud) but once you crank the sound up to about halfway you get alll kinds a feedback.. A few of my friends own the kustom 65fdx.. I highly recommend the kustom 65dfx for a more crunchy sound and it 2 has a great clean channell being a kustom. Overall the marshall is good on low settings but once the volumes up you will get feedback and theres no escaping it.

Wow, got this baby bout a year ago great sound, never go back on a marshall sound. I have a JCM 900 and I use this for practice. This thing is LOUD AS HELL, and the same tone as my 900, I strongly reccomend it to any style of music, just the only problem is my fan is loud when starting up, but it goes away after a minute. The effects are kind of lame but I dont use them anywyas, I like the true sound of an amp. Strongly reccomend this baby
