I've had this litle thing for over a year and for a practice amp, it's servicable. I wish I'd bought the base model because the effects are horrible and you can't stack them.

You can only use one effect at a time and you're limited to using one and only one effect. Buy a stomp box and a basic Marshall and don't spend the extra $$$ on the features this amp offers.

I've owned this amp for about a year and a half and it has become the favorite amp in my home. My sons are constantly fighting over who gets to use the Marshall and who has to use the other amps. it's been great while it worked but during one jam, it simply stopped working. The light is on and it's getting power but there is zero sound. I've looked into gettting it repaired but as most things solid state, the economical thing to do is throw it out and get a new one. I've lost a little faith in the quality and I may consider another brand but the sound it produces is excellent.

Please take into consideration that I have never played anything other than smaller, off brand amplifiers. Now, I played this amp side by side with a Line 6 spider (the smaller one). This amp is bigger than it but the spider is still louder. As for the effects, I cant hear much difference when I have them mixed in the any channel (This amps effects are almost unnoticeable, but remember I didn't have too much time to work with them). Now even if the spider is louder, this thing has enough power for several houses to call the sheriffs department to complain about noise violations. That and it woke up many many people in area. Now This amp has wonderful gain and can really get your sound across. But for some reason I perfered using the spider, I was lazy and wanted a few "wow" effects and ridiculous gain(insane setting). This amp is wonderful, but I wouldn't buy it for the effects, get all your effects sesperate.

Great Little Practice Amplifier!

This is a great amp! I love it a lot. The amp has very unique features (Flanger, Chorus, Reverb and Delay) that work well, effectively and sound just lovely with any other settings. It's great for travel, and can get pretty loud as a practice amp... In my opinion, it's the best practice amp available. I play through it with my Epiphone Les Paul Standard Plus and the Marshall simply launches my sustain to incredible levels. I use a Boss DS-1 Distortion pedal on the clean channel often with low dist. Settings and half-cut tone. This gives me a smooth, low gain crunch, great for blues. This amp simply delivers with creamy, crystal clear cleans and crisp, tonally boasting overdrive that leaves you wanting more.

The Marshall MG15DFX is a great practice amp. If you, like me, don't have your effects equipment set up permanently, the features in this unit will meet what you need for routine workout. It's surprisingly loud enough for a jam with your friends or even a small gig. The clean channel is clean enough for jazz and blues and the dirty channel proves this is a Marshall.
