This Marshall half stack from the MG series includes the MG100HFX amp head and MG412A (angled) or MG412B (straight) cabinet.

MG100HFX Amplifier Head
The MG100HFX amp head combines 100W of raw Marshall power with the versatility of 4 storable, footswitchable channels. You also get digital effects including: reverb, chorus, flanger, phaser, and delay. It packs fully analog tone circuits, providing the distinctive Marshall tone and pure organic flexibility. Using digitally controlled analog functions, the MG4 Series MG100HFX also delivers precise control and superb flexibility without masking your guitar's own sound or making your tone sound processed and artificial.

The Marshall MG100HFX head also features a frequency-dependent damping circuit. This circuit ensures that the sound reproduces the same interaction between amplifier and speaker that occurs in professional valve amplification, making the MG100HFX amplifier sound and feel alive.

A 2-button footswitch is included, but with a Stompware 4-button footcontroller (not included), you can easily store and recall your favorite settings, playing seamlessly through your music in true professional style.

Marshall MG412 Speaker Cabinet:
The 8-ohm, 120W MG412 speaker cab is loaded with 4 x 12" custom-voiced Marshall/Celestion speakers that really crank out that authentic Marshall tone. Choose angled (Marshall MG412A) or straight (Marshall MG412B). The guitar speaker is designed for maximum road-readiness with reinforced corners and recessed and side bar handles.

Marshall can do better than this

I ordered the head. I was excited to try it out the day it came. When I opened the box I was shocked to find the head broken into two pieces. No exaggeration - two pieces. I picked it up by the handle and the bottom half of the amp stayed in the box. Must have been dropped from the top shelf in the warehouse. Anyway, seeing the amp in this wrecked conditon opened my eyes to some things. First the cabinet is made of particle board. It's not even the good MDF or OSB type - it's just the regular old weak particle board - which is why it broke the way that it did. Plywood - even cheap plywood wouldn't have come apart like that. Another thing I noticed were the plastic input and output jacks - plastic nuts, plastic washers, plastic jacks. The amp has plastic corner protectors.

I understand the need for companies like Marshall to produce lower priced products that the average consumer can afford. But they can do better than this. They really should be ashamed to put their name on something like this. And on top of that, Marshall's budget line amps are some of the most expensive. You would expect to get a little something for the extra cost, but sadly, all you get is the Marshall name.

Musicians Friend promptly took care of the issue and took the amp back. But I didn't get another Marshall MG to replace it with. I instead went with the Fender Bandmaster VM. Yeah - it's more money and it's made in Mexico, but it has a birch plywood cabinet, metal corner protectors, metal jacks, a tube power amp, and comes complete with a cover, a 4 button footswitch, and a speaker cable. Even the cheap Fenders are built well. I have a chinese made Super Champ XD and it's twice the quality of the Marshall MG.

Marshall needs to take some lessons in building quality products at a low price.

Ok lets face it. Its extremely hard to get a good amp that can take some major abuse and still dish out great sound. But that is exactly what this amp does!!! For the last four years i have put this amp through anything and everything you can imagine.( rain, dropping it, throwing it, hitting it) you name it i've probably put my mg through it, and it still keeps on taking the beatings. but i guess the abuse is finally catching up to it because after being at a loud volume for twenty mins or so its starts to buzz and loses some volume. but i do not by any means regret buying it.

Its ok to practice with, but playing a show its not that great. I like the tone of the MG30 ALOt better but for some reason the MG100 sounds to teny, and when I play it loud it sounds like them old transister radios. When I have enough money I will up grade. If anything I should have kept the MG30 and mic it, sounds way better.

Its a great amp with great features. The overdrive is much better than previous models of MG series.you can really make this amp very good sounding if you have a EQ stompbox or rack EQ unit.just put the eq in the fx loop and you can get almost any tone you want.clean channel is great.so r crunch.od2 channel is a bit muddy with lacks of high.but can be sloved with the help of EQ.effects are fine.delay is great with tap tempo features.overall its a great amp for the price.
