Looks cheap, sounds cheap, is cheap.

You can put a Marshall logo on a cardboard box, paint it black, and sell a million. It's lightweight, has cheapie speakers and parts, no skid trays, no casters, no white piping, etc. It's a stripped-down Marshall cab. I tried using it a few times live with my JVM. After the last rehearsal I ran home for my 4x12. This is blurry and unfocused, dull top-end, lots of broad undefined lows. You get what you pay for.

Eventually I upgraded to a 1939 and ain't looking back. Great for beginners and those sporting MGs, but eventually you'll want to get something better. The 1939 is much different than this, MDF or not.

I play metal and this cab has held up great at the higher volumes in clubs and on larger stages. It can keep up with my friend's Marshall half stack. The only thing that I might possibly change are the speakers. This is great if you don't have space for a half stack.

Ok for beginners, not for the pro's

It's lightweight, looks good and is loud. But the excitement pretty much ends there. It's made of particle board except the baffle which is thinner plywood than it should be. Because of the cheap woods this cab resonates all over the place in wierd ways. There's a whole lot of lows and low mids going on, which sounds powerful at first, but then you quickly realize that it just dominates the whole sound. It's big fat unclear/unfocused sound. Feels more like a wooden balloon about to explode. For the price, it's a working stereo cab. If you're gigging in a large enough space you'll hear it alright, but in smaller places when the band is loud, this will disappear into mud mountain. Tried it with a JVM410 head and various other tube & SS amps.

Pretty good cabinet

I bought one of these to match with a Spider Valve head I purchased. I'm pleased with the tone this cabinet delivers, but will likely change the speakers out in time. The thing I was suprised about is that the cabinet is much lighter than I thought it would be. Very nice when you need to gig with it. This cab is capable of putting out some pretty good volume, so I would be just fine for a small club or if you mic it up to a PA.

Says Marshall, Shame to the Name

I'm an old-school pro rocker that knows the good stuff. I have always had good experiences with the Marshall brand. This cab is Made in England, so I thought I'd buy one and give it a try. You know, lighten the load, but still stay cool with stereo and the Marshal logo...

Even with a small crate powerblock the cab rattled.

No problem, "I thought," I'll just tighten whatever is loose!

When I got the thing open, I saw why it is cheap. It's made out of particle-board, except for the front speaker-baffle, which was flimsy plywood. The plastic input jack-plate allows stereo or mono operation, but it is the cheapest plastic jack you can find. Inside, they used a hodgepodge of different screws, carelessly driven at irregular positions and angles. The finishing inside was incomplete. There was absolutely NO acoustic dampening material. The back and sides all resonate at peculiar frequencies. There is a lot of wasted space inside and you can tell this is just a combo-amp cab without the amp. It is not a properly proportioned speaker cab or even a special design.

I closed 'er up, and sent 'er back.

The thing looks nice and is lightweight. If you play very quietly and don't mind the cheap construction or the possibility that you'll need to tighten the speakers, give it a shot. It is still overpriced even if they fixed the shoddy construction and thoughtless design.
