This half stack includes the Marshall JVM410H Tube Amp Head and 1960V Vintage Speaker Cabinet.

JVM410H Tube Amp Head
In a nutshell, the Marshall all-tube, 4-channel JVM410H 100-Watt tube head is the most versatile Marshall amplifier ever made. It also boasts more gain than any other Marshall to date and that's really saying something!

Each of its 4 channels Clean, Crunch, OD1 & OD2 are not only completely independent of each other, they all boast 3 Modes, all 12 of which are footswitchable and feature their own unique gain structure. It makes the JVM 4-channel effectively 12 Marshalls in one!

The JVM410H amp head has studio-quality digital reverb with a level control for each channel. This is also footswitchable, as are the amp's two Master Volume controls and the Series/Parallel effects loop. Resonance and Presence are equipped with master controls.

Even though the head and combo both house 28 controls and 8 LED switches on their front panels, they're incredibly simple to understand because of the extremely logical layout. Each of the 4 channels has the usual suspects when it comes to controls Volume, Bass, Middle, Treble & Gain accounting for 20 of the 28 controls right away. Take away the 4 reverb controls and you're only left with 4 Master controls 2 Master Volumes plus Resonance & Presence.

Add to this an ingenious footswitch (UK patent pending) and the fact all the amp's switching (channel/modes, Reverb, Master Volume selection, FX loop) can be done via MIDI and you're looking at an incredibly flexible amp! The 6-way footswitch boasts 7 LEDs and memory, plus it connects to the amp via a regular guitar cable.

From the cleanest clean to the filthiest distortion ever found in a Marshall and all points in-between, the JVM410H all-valve amp head will give you whatever tone you need right when you need it.

1960V Vintage Speaker Cabinet
The Marshall 1960V Vintage Speaker Cabinet puts out beautiful tone at any volume. The addition of an impedance (4 or 16 ohm) mono/stereo switching mechanism has transformed the "industry standard" 1960 into the ultimate speaker cab. This 280W Marshall cab is loaded with Celestion Vintage 30 speakers.

JVM 410H with 1960BV cab... the sampler platter...

This amplifier is great, one of Marshall's best I'd say, it's got everything you could ask for, all the features anyone could ever ask for and can be extremely guitar-to-amp easy or David Gilmour complicated. I wrote a review on this earlier and thought I'd write another just to show how your feelings toward an amp might change. I'm glad this was my first Marshall amp and first tube amp, it gave me more than enough to play with and a broad selection of tones and gain stages to really let me explore my personal tastes in music. I feel though that the JVM series is really angled toward the High gain musical tastes of Heavy Metalists. Really the "Modded Plexi" and "JCM 800" tones are for older metal styles while the OD2 channel gets into numetal gain areas. the entire amp has high presence in the first place to give you that slice through kinda sound. the clean channel I feel is for dynamic changes you sometimes hear in harder genre songs. I'm working on getting a fender blues deluxe or a a twin with a 1959 or '87 XL Marshall as I think those suit my needs a tad bit better. buy this amplifier if you want to explore your tonal options or don't feel like you actually have found your forte, I can't really say don't buy this amp, but if you know what sound you're going for and what amps specifically you want, then it would be pointless to not use a few of these channels. feel free to Email me about more specific experiences I've had with this amp.

When I heard this amp it was incredible. It had perfect Cleans and even better distortion. Before i had tried this amp i had thought that Marshall isnt much of a grunge, hardcore, death metal amp. But now this amp really changed my perception.

Marshall comes clean: great amp!

I'm a life long Fender guy (Deluxe Reverb RI, Vibrolux Reverb Custom, Bassman 4x10, vintage ProReverb, even a Pro185) and a major reason for that was that I want CLEAN with headroom; I'll add overdrive when necessary with pedals (like my Klon Centaur). I've been intrigued by Marshalls over the years, but they just don't have a loud CLEAN sound (neither does Mesa Boogie for that matter).

But with the JVM-410H that has all changed. The clean channel is a bright and sparkly as you want and you get three more overdrive channels to play with as well. One can basically dial in four settings which you can get to with a press of a foot switch; a subsequent presses of the same switch cycle you through the three voicings of each channel, so you can set those up with different master volumes, reverb on/off as you need.

Icing on the cake is the speaker emulated direct output which can be run in parallel with the powered output: you could record direct and mic'ed at the same time and blend to taste; or for live applications, run DI to the house and use the cabinet as a stage monitor. Very flexible.

The 1960AV cabinet is great as well: I chose that as it is a bit softer in sound than the newer 1960A to cut some of the traditional Marshall brittleness, but it still handles 280 watts, plenty for this amp.

The only negative (other than it weighs a lot) is the digital reverb. I just turn it off and use either my Fender 63 Reverb re-issue in the effects loop (post overdrive) or my TC G-System effects for better sounding and more tuneable reverbs.

My guitars are strat (vintage noiseless), Tele (vintage 66 original everything), Gibson Les Paul '59 re-issue, 335 historic reissue, Johnny A, PRS 513 and a few more. They all sound great through this amp and speaker combination.

If you need a 100 watt performance set up, this is it; even if you just need a recording "preamp," this will do the trick with real tube sounds, not emulated or modeled "almosts."
