Rear Left-facing Right-facing Group Shot, Right-facing Right-facing, with Angussg

The Marshall JTM45 Amp Head is a lovingly created reproduction of Jim Marshall's first amplifier. Now the classic JTM45 is accessible to all who enjoy its glassy, clean tone and fluid, warm sustain.

By including GZ34 valve rectification, as found in the original, Marshall has ensured a faithful recreation of the JTM45's glorious sound. The GZ34 rectifier valve interacts with the rest of the valves causing subtle harmonics to shift and smolder beneath every note you play.

Fabulous tone and simplicity

Classic Marshall tone for all but speed/death metal needs. The tone on this amp shimmers and sparkles when clean, and with overdrive and distortion stomp boxes you can get legendary Marshall sound from blues crunch to JCM 800 shred. And with 30 watts, volume is more than adequate for home and small to mid-size clubs. The tube rectification does, indeed, color this amp to be on the warmer side when receiving a clean signal. And with the overdrive this compression frames all 6 strings into a clear, but mean package. I've been playing for over 40 years and own 9 different amps - including vintage and boutique. This Marshall is, overall, the best sounding amp I have ever heard - hands down.

I use this head with a 4x12 with greenbacks, or a 212 with 75's. Plug in,jump the channels & go. I use a "Metal Zone" for leads, but not for all leads. It's LOUD, but not awful loud like a plexi. My JCM 800 is now my spare. 'nuff said!!!

This is the best amp I have ever owned in my 3 years of playing guitar. I use Marshall 1960 AX and BX cabs. It is incredible

I could have saved a lotta time and money if I'd found this amp a few years ago. I've used Fenders, Mesa/Boogies, Peaveys, and other Marshalls...all were great, but nothing can come close to the tone of the JTM 45. My Les Paul and LP Jr. sounded amazing and my Telecaster...I couldn't believe it was the same guitar. Hands down, the best amp I've played thru (including vintage Fender Bassmans and Twin Reverbs). I've only got the volume up to about 6 (my neighbors probably wouldn't like me to go any higher). I'm using either a 1960A 4X12 or an MG212 cabs. One thing I will note, if you're gonna use an od pedal, you will have to take the time to tweak it so your tone won't sound muddy. If you're thinking about buying this head, stop thinking and buy it. YOU WON'T REGRET IT!!!

I tried and bought this amp locally. The shop I bought it at let me come in early and crank it up, so I got to see what this amp could do before I bought it. And I was impressed. The tone range you get by jumping the chanels is amazing.
