ive had this amp for almost 2 years

its a great amp, very very versatile!! you can literally dial in any tone you want.

it sounds very very good for an amp in this price and has the vibe and sound (to some extent) of a good tube marshall

this amp has that great midle-rangy marshall distortion, and certainly can handle mid-scoop metal tones quite easily

playing through my ESP eclipse, this amp screams! whether its chugging rhythms, wailing solos, articulate pinch harmonics, dirty texas/delta blues licks, or perfectly clean jazz chords, this amp is a constant reassurance of money well spent

however, i dont like the reverb, maybe mine is broken or something, i dont remember what it was like when i bought it, but i really dont see much of a difference between whether its on or off... ill soon compare to other AVT's and see if its just my amp...

also, my footswitch died, but thats fair enough considering the endless rehearsals and gigs that ive dragged it to

this amp is certainly LOUD!! for a 50 watt

at home i rarely turn it over four or five

however i find that once you reach about 6 or 7, there isnt THAT much difference in volume between that and when you have it at 10.

but dont get me wrong

i have LOVED this amp and still do, it has been a pleasure to play, and is perfect for guitarists who are just starting to play gigs of any sort, or those who just want a good tube-souding, well priced, exremely versatile amplifier

buy an AVT!

Can't Beat A Marshall

I used to play a 100 watt Rogue. And it was loud, but sounded like crap. So i went out and bought this amp. After 100 watt, I thought 50 would be weak. Not this amp, it is crazy loud. I play it on volume 5 most of the time and its loud. The overdrive sounds awesome, clean has a good ring to it. It is an awesome amp.

Marshall has a rep for a reason, producing amps like this one. It's only 50 watts but it is LOUD. It has the best sound I've ever hear out of a 50 watt amp. Best buy for the price range, a better marshall solid state will cost you twice as much. Can't beat the valve sound for gain and this hybrid has it.

I recently purchased the AVT50 and I am hiding under the kitchen table in fear. The thing is so loud that I knocked a picture off my wall in the clean channel on volume 4! The amp is superb and much more than I had expected. I am replacing a Roland Cube 30, with this Marshall. The Cube 30 is a great little combo, but was not a worthy match for the Gibson Les Paul Deluxe that I saved two years to get. Only negative comment about this amp, besides its ability to remove the oxygen from your lungs, is that its quality reveals my lack of skill. Cheers to Jim Marshall et. al.
