Just played with my new Marshall and it's great.My other two Marshalls are a avt150h head on a 1960bv cab and a vs102r 2x12 combo stacked on the avt4x12 cab. The new halfstack sounds a lot better.I have always read that the all tube Marshalls sound better,now I know they really do.I play at home in a small room and can never see me cranking this amp up to full volume unless I was standing outside the room with the door closed.I don't play well but this setup does make me sound better.The 2061x head has no problem powering the 120 watt 4x12 cabinet.The sound is full and loud with the volume only turned up to 4.I now also have the pride of ownership that goes with having such a nice Marshall halfstack.I'm very glad I bought it.

Only one thing to say. You WILL not find a better soudning distiortion in any amp you can buy new than in marshalls hand wired series. The 20 watts is the PERFECT power output, as you get all the volume you'll ever need ( it is loud, really loud for the rating. It is a actuall a bit louder than fenders 40 watts blues deluxe, albeit with less clean headroom naturally) This not to say it doesnt have good headroom though. especially the bass channel stay clean for very long. Where the amp really bloew everything else, is the lead channel at 10, and coupled with a les paul. This is THE sound. String seperation is FANTASTIC. ever note rings out with such clarity, even with loads of overdrive, the most complex chords are clear and not mudded. Pure vintage rock tone at loud, though acceptable volume for anything from smaller gigs to medium-large clubs. If your into anything other than playing in stadiums, get this amp now. Not enough good can be said about it to do it justice. Pure quality, american and european components all the way, wired by experts in England. If tone is what you want, get it now. you'll never regret it.

I've played now for 36 years... lots of guitars, and tons of amps and boutique effects. I bought my 2061x with the matching cab when they first came out about 3 to 4 years ago... After keeping it stored in its original box in my closet for 3 to 4 years, I finally decided to break it out as my main amp. The simplicity of its design is what makes this amp shine. All the Marshall sound is there. With some boutique fxs... one can sound like anyone he or she chooses. I just changed the tubes with JJ Tesla tubes from Eurotubes, and the sustain is to die for. I would purchase another if this one were lost/stolen.

I"ve played for over 30 years, lots of diffrent amps, and use to always run 2 amps to get the sound I wanted, not no more, this amp is sooo rich and full sounding, and I"ve been giging with it for over a year, no problems at all. GREAT AMP.

Old Marshall amps vary in tone, this one ensures they all sound awesome. Cracked it up to 8 for gigs wihtout blowing away a club. Add a tube screamer and a DS-1 and you have all the gain you need. From crunch to searing. The Jump channel is cool as well. The ONLY downside to this amp is no effects loop. So you will need line level effects (this would be KILLER with a loop) but then not vintage I guess.
