This cab is Great. You get your money's worth. It will produce every note. You dont get cheated out of anything. Its taken everything I can throw at it and it has never rattled or clipped once. I didnt really like it, but my friend in the next room told my I sound amazing. Marshall cabs are funny like that. You need to back away about 15 feet to really hear what the people around you hear. It doesnt matter what volume you play at. You still get harmonically rich tones, so you can get worthwhile practice at modest volume levels. The nature of the cab doesnt change with volume either. It simply sounds better as it gets louder.

Solidly constructed cabinet. What you pay for, is what you should come to expect. I've used many cabs over the last 32 years & the 1960 is the way I choose to live. Weigh it against any other enclosure, even Marshall's lesser grade cabinets, and you'll discover why this choice is the right one.
Construction, clarity & output!!!!!

This is a great, powerful cabinet. Great overall sound that works with just about any head you put on it. Switchable between a single 4 or 16 Ohms mono input, or a pair of 8 Ohms stereo inputs. Has great range low to high, so you can use different heads and each one's tonal character will come though. 4 x 75 watt Celestions can handle any tube head you sit on top of it, even 150 watt Boogies. If there is one cabinet to have, this is it. I use a single 1960A and have played bars, clubs, outdoor events, it always sounds good. If you play rock, blues or country, you won't be disappointed.

I've owned several cabs over the time I've been playing guitar (B-52's included) and this is probably my favorite of all of them. I play my 6505+ through it along with my 6262 and the clarity provided is substantially better than any other I have owned. It doesn't matter how low I E.Q. nor the amount of gain I use this cab never rattles and stays crystal clear. Every note is distinguishable. If this cab gives you problems then you might need a new head, or maybe learn to play.

for metal players looking at this , think about your needs.
I cant speak for other styles much , but for metal, you can get a great cab for a-lot less money.
the reality is this,
if your recording , you are MIC-ing your SPEAKER.
the cab really doesnt have much to do with the sound after that , as long as its decently constructed ( not rattling etc.)
75 watt celestions are great. i prefer the vintage 30s but thats just a preference.
when you go out live, your mic-ing your speaker again. and playing at concert volume and having a great time.
sorry to let the tone nuts down here, but your audience will not be able to tell the subtle nuances (almost in detectable in fact ) that one cab over another using the exact same speakers will produce in either envirornment, again , as long as they are well constructed.
there is something to be said for cloth grille-cloths as you can put the mic right up against it and not get any sound deflecting from the metal covers.
so if your comparing cabs , and money doesnt fall from the sky for you , consider your needs.
ide go with the b-52 for less myself, and bet the price difference that no one could tell me who built the box my celestion speakers are in on my recording or live shows.
