Mixed Feelings

Well...One Channel sounded great! The other...Not so good...or at least not to my liking...It is defiantly a FUZZ effect not a distortion! But they almost had a great product...they should have made both channels identical (using the good sound) then you could set different gain and volume levels...as if it were a 2 channel amp...then it would have been great...IMOHO. Not to knock it too badly...as far as a FUZZ sound goes it was pretty good...I just don't care for FUZZ that much... And it was very well made!! It just wasn't what I was expecting or looking for so I am sending it back.

Good Distortion

I've always searched for a distortion pedal that could give me everything I desired from warm fuzzy riff's to bright lead parts along with man things in between. I use this pedal 3rd in a line of 17 pedals, using a custom guitar with lindy fralin pickups amplified with a fender bassman amp. This pedal does it all the distortion on the bottom with the bass boost enhanced is very nice I keep the gain pretty low so it doesn't get to dirty. The top distortion with the mid cut button in isn't to great, but with out it is pretty crazy, I can get sounds that sound like an analog recording, blowntube, dead battery, smooth overdrive, to shrill erie sounds, I use it most for bright lead parts. Overall I think the pedal is a winner, built well, sounds great, can't go wrong with that combination.

Almost useless

If you buy this distortion for heavy rock sounds - look elsewhere. I tried it through quite a few amps and it could never achieve the sounds I was after. I tested it on clean amp - Fender Princeton (solid state) and my 2 Marshalls, Valvestate 8100 (solidstate) and JCM900(tube). It is good for bluesy tones but distortion 1 when you dial little gain. When you crank the gain it gets out of control and not ina good way. It gets buzzy and lifeless. Distortion #2 (the bottom one) is totally useless. It sounds like a fuzz at max and is totally uncontrollable. Again - at low settings it gets some nice rock/bluesy sounds but nothing to write home about. Compared to other distortion units I own (Sansamp TRI-OD, H&K Tubeman), while this unit is well built and loaded with features, all the rest beat it in the tone department.
