Raucous Red Rockin' Rascal !

Got this box from Musician's Friend about a week ago, and used it at a small-club gig this past Saturday night. I was very pleased. Not only did it sound great, but I was actually able to get some controlled feedback at times, which was very cool! Caution: for those utilizing the 9-volt battery option, I'm pretty sure the battery is being drawn down any time you plug your guitar cable into the Distortion III's Input jack, regardless of whether or not the red indicator light is on. In other words, the light only indicates that the distortion effect is kicked in; it's not a battery indicator light. Simple, rugged, good-looking, good-sounding, reasonably priced box !!

this pedal is not what it says it its. for an overdrive/clean boost, it is beautiful, fabulous, limitless sounds and tones. but i wanted a pedal that would deliver clean And crunch, and this thing has no crunch. none. the only way i get actual distortion out of it is if i crank my amp. i don't need a pedal for that..i can get massive distortion at low volume from a Rat or a Big Muff... i'm getting rid of this pedal.

I bought this pedal off a friend, because he wanted to get rid of it (Big mistake!!!!). I went home and plugged it in... and I was blown away. This pedal has a great vintage sound. Great for rock and blues. Definetly a must have for anyone looking for a great vintage sound!

This distortion is great. I don't think you should use it as you're only distortion. I run it with a TS9. The MXR has s great screaming lead tone. Lots of sustain when you the tweak the knobs. Tone knob sounds great all the way down for more of a rhythm with tight low end. Beautiful overtones, definitely a musician's distortion. Amazing price too. Can't go wrong with MXR.
