This little terror is exactly the tool a professional guitarist needs on his board. Unlike the boss compressor, this baby is far more responsive without changing your tone. It does what you'd expect, expands your tone, evens out your highs, and gives you the Dyana response (pressure). This is highly useful, because you can place this at the end of a distortion chain and depend on it to boost your clean but leave a little head room for your effects to be a little louder when turned on. It evens your levels when you switch guitars to a new pickup set, and over all is perfect. Only complaint I could have is a wider range of sensitivity would be nice.

Don't Mess With The Internal Trim Pot!!!!! This is a great pedal for the money but lets clear something up right now. It's noisy!! Just like most all compressor pedal are noisy. Thats just the way it is. If you buy this comp you will be pleased, but the internal trim pot is factory set and hot glued in there. IT IS NOT A NOISE GATE!!! and if you mess with it you will mess up you pedal and it's about a $50.00 repair.

Lets get this staight first. I've only played this pedal twice. It has a great compression sound, days of sustain, but thats what a compressor is suppose to do, Right? Well it could also be used as a good boost pedal too. Now I know what all the complaints are about. This pedal tends to HISSSSSSS when its on. Well, when I played it, I noticed the same thing! and the thing is, theres a way to fix it. You don't need to buy a smart gate, or noise gate pedal to fix it. Theres actually a built in noise gate that comes within the pedal. All you need to do is unscrew the back and turn the noise gate up with a little screw driver. So next time you read a review about this pedal saying it is noisy, know theres a way to fix it. This is actually a great pedal, buy it.

Great Pedal....

I play in a three piece, and this is exactly the pedal for someone looking to bump it up a notch when doing lead work with no rhythm guitarist backing you up. Built like a tank and very responsive. The only thing to remember is, part of this pedal's job is to amplify low level audio...and it does that very well. For this reason, it needs to be the first pedal you plug into or you will be disappointed. If you feed this pedal low level noise, it will make it louder...that's its job. Don't feed it the natural hiss from a flanger or overdrive, and it won't amplify it. Plug into this first, then into everything else. After that, it's just straight ahead, no nonsense, no equipment failure sustain and boost. An attack control would be nice, but I think I'll live. Great pedal.
