When Dimebag Darrell of Pantera first exploded on the scene, he ushered in a new era of tone and attitude. When it comes to guitar, Dime doesn't need a "warm" or "pretty" sound. He can't be bothered with "vintage" this or "boutique" that. He wants a heavy, aggressive, razor-sharp tone that can slice through a loud band and a louder crowd. It's a tone that rages with distortion but remains tight and focused enough to keep up with lightening-fast rhythm lines and face-melting solos.

Finally there's a pedal that can deliver all that: the The DimeŠ Distortion from MXR. Crank the gain, boost the lows and highs, and hit the Scoop switch for a rhythm tone that will annihilate. Dial the mids back in and mow down the competition with a lead sound that can penetrate steel. If it still hasn't gotten heavy enough for you, stick the Dime in front of a distorted amp and experience sustain and sonic mayhem that's so over the top it should come with a warning label.

Bring it on! Put it in the cart.

UHH....I'M A LITTLE SPEECHLESS

My rig consists of a Krank Krankenstien head, a Marshall 1960 four twelve cab, and a Dean Shadow ML(stock pups) with Floyd. I have tried every combination I can think of to get 'that' sound. Not so much Dime's sound, but that 'tearing metal' sound. A sound that lets your picking nuances shine through with awesome gain to back it up without getting muddy. When I got the Dime Distortion pedal tweaked out with my head I was utterly speechless; I didn't want to talk, just play. Dime's tone and energy are definitly in there just waiting for your fingers. I am completely satisfied with this pedal. If it breaks, I will buy a new one immediately. Along with the scoop mids switch this pedal allows you to go from rock and roll to metal with a push of a button. Really folks, unbelievable.

I love this pedals. The only one among several I own that eliminates unwanted excessive mids like in my MGDFX 50. You have to know how to tweak it. That are several ways to adjust the Eq functions due to it's parametric features. If you "crank" the low, knobb and lower the volume it boosts the gain signal tremendously instead of getting "bassy". Yes, tones of gain and tweakability. BUY it!!

This peddle is great for my amp because my amp really dosn't have that great distortion no it. This pedal has awesome amount of gain but it dosn't really have that dime tone. What I do is turn all the eq knobs down and use it as a straight distortion pedal. This pedal really fits me.

The DD-11 will NOT give you the coveted Dime sound. It comes close mind you... but the setting in the manual isn't close to it. IMO make your own... spend about an hour tweaking your amp to it... you can get sounds ranging from Jimmie H to Randy R and if you tweak enough the Godfather himself Dime. Overall the pedal is VERY small(ideal for a crammed pedal case like mine) very well built, and glow in the dark words so you know where your bass/mid/treble etc is in the dark. Expensive, but it's worth it for a clean distortion w/ low to no feedback. If you want that Dime sound you need atleast 1 10 band EQ, and Never put the mids past 4 on your amp otherwise it's muddy and you're not getting the sound you should out of it. All in all great buy, great pedal, it's an MXR... can't go wrong.

This is the first pedal (besides my Crybaby) that I have ever owned and I think I have found the mother load of guitar shred pedals. SMALL BUT MIGHTY: This thing takes up like...No floor space? It is intense. Highs are high, mids are sculpted and lows are really heavy. Very nice.
