This really shines when you run it after a compressor, otherwise the overdrive without the boost is kinda weak. The blue LED on the boost is bright enough to guide airplanes in for a landing! The gain sounds fuzzy around halfway, especially with the boost on, more of a late 60's fuzz than a Big Muff fuzz. The unit itself is pretty heavy, don't throw this at anyone or anything unless you want to have a chat with local law enforcement. Before getting this I looked at Voodoo Lab's Sparkle Drive, kinda the same thing, only a TS-808 clone with an non-switched boost mix.

I bit the bullet and bought it mainly for the boost, and I could not be happier. I run into my AC30CC2 and use a Gibson SG with fantastic results. The boost is super quiet and really pushes the amp from nice and clean to overdrive very nicely. You can control it very easily with your picking style. The overdrive is also fantastic. I use it in the top boost to add some gain and it is buttery smooth, think high gain Brian May. Used in the normal channel I can get the same results. I strongly believe that this pedal will react to your amp. I think it does its job on tube amps more so than SS. So if you have a good quality amp then this pedal will amaze you. If you have a cheap amp then maybe its not for you. Remember "You can't polish a turd"

This thing is a dream to experience. I have a Marshall JCM 800 2203 and this pedal produces some killer tones. With patience you can dial in some sweet tones from classic crunch to balls out metal. Given it's pretty much dead silent in the noise category I don't even need my gate anymore. It can however amplify your imperfections as a player. Perhaps that's the reason I see a lot of beef about the overdrive section. You can hear every detail of your playing. This pedal pushes me to become a better player and sounds awesome.

Boost provides just-right amount of pre-amp to push amp a little for full sound and articulation. Overdrive is very musical and useful, especially say with guitar volume 1/2 way up, giving some room to move there. Very satisfied.

I got this pedal because even though I love my THD Flexi-50, I needed to get more gain out of it. This thing does the job perfectly. I have the gain on my amp set to about 1 o'clock and with the gain boost on, it let's me get an intense amp distortion. The overdrive side of the pedal yields an amazing lead tone with miles of sustain. I hate pedal-dancing so I like to use a volume pedal to go from clean to overdrive and this pedal does just that with no problems. I would definetly recommend this pedal to anyone who wants a little more out of thier tube amp.
