A perfectly servicable beginning guitar but...

First off, the guitar sounds thin. Even compared with a Ibanez GA6CE. This is to be expected as it has a thin body. It sounds better when plugged in and mic-ed. It plays well. It didn't require a lot of set-up. I did change the stock strings for a set of D'Adario extra hard tension one. I also lowered the action by filing down the saddle a bit. This wasn't necessary. It's just that I'm not a classical player, and I prefer a very low string action.

The neck is ever so slightly thinner than typical 2" nut-width classical guitars. However, it's thicker than most "hybrid" nylon-string guitars aimed at electric guitar player.

There are only two things about this guitar that really annoy me. The first is the battery issue. The battery is (barring the use of a router) only accessible through the sound hole. If you are a man with large hands, you WILL have to remove at least three strings to get to the battery. I cannot imagine why the manufacturer wouldn't have made the batter hole big enough to slide out the whole EQ assembly.

The second annoyance, and this is more a matter of opinion, is that the neck of a thin bodied single cutaway guitar, like this one, should really join the body at the 14th fret. Having it join at the 12th fret limits the advantage of having a cutaway, as it is difficult to reach the upper frets.

I plan to sell this guitar and a similar one with a more accessible battery and 14 frets clear of the body.

Ok, the sound of this guitar is not bad; it is actually good if you compare it to other brands, only the typical brands like, Ibanez, Yamaha, and all those guitars. But if you compare the guitar with a Cordoba it has nothing to do. And if you want the guitar to play classic guitar you should consider a better guitar stay away from the U.S. brands. Get a Portuguese, Spanish or a Mexican one; they know how to make acoustic guitars. This guitar has a real problem is the battery. It’s inside the guitar. If you think it’s not a problem, trust me o this one it is. but if you are just learning this is a great guitar. I had to return mine because it did work and I decide to spend a little more money to get a better guitar.

I recieved this guitar as a christmas gift this year. I played it for 2 days unplugged and thought the sound was pretty good considering the price of the guitar. Once I went to band practice and tried to plug it in it didn't work. So I figuered it was the batt. When I went to change the battery I discovered the battery could only be accessed by reaching into the sound hole. Not only is the batt in the sound hole it is a 9v battery with clip on contacts. So you have to try to unclip and pull out the batt all from inside of the guitar. It took me about 20 mintues to take the batt out and the effort of my entire band. Once the batt was out it took about an hour to get the next batt. in just to discover the guitar still didn't work. Who ever designed this guitar needs to go back to the drawing board. I sent it back and got an ibanez

Nice Classical !

I've owned this guitar for almost 2 years now, and I must say it's quite a treat to play -especially when I think of how (relatively) little it cost. The neck is a bit narrower than most classical guitars (nice for my smallish hands) and has a really nice tone for an instrument at this price point. I tried several guitars costing as much as $450 and really couldn't convince myself that they sounded any better than this one- and most had wider necks. The one real drawback is the lack of a battery compartment (as others have noted, you access the battery inside the guitar by reaching through the soundhole- what brilliant engineer came up with that idea ?!) I don't use it plugged in, but the one time I tried it, it sounded fine. The tuners are OK; not the best but I've found no reason to change them. All in all a great value. If you don't need / want / or can't afford a higher-end instrument, this one will do you just fine!

I've owned this guitar for over 2 years and I have never had any problems with it. The sound is great and it stays in tune for quite a while. Plus it's easy on the fingers being a nylon guitar.
