I loved the sounds I was getting out of this amp and the ones I dialed in myself. It had plenty of power even outside and then the nightmare happened. A year or so into it it started making a crackling static sound and then one night, luckily I was at a home jam and not on a gig, it started again and then started squealing and just shut off. It would not turn on again so it was a good thing I bought the gold warranty. It went back to service, 10 weeks later I got it back and still not working right. Returned again 2 times.Back ordered parts, arguing with warranty company, etc. Nightmare. It a shame because I was really digging this amp. I think I'll stick to the tube amps. Computers are not meant to last.

The title says it all, with this amp you gotta have patience. You've also gotta have a lot of time and a lot of amp/tone knowledge. If those are not a problem for you then don't even look for another amp, this is the one. I don't care what kind of music like or what kind of guitar you play, you will find the sound you're looking for. The Vetta II really does have it all! I will never buy another guitar amp (until Line 6 makes a Vetta III). By the way this amp is very loud, I mean very, very LOUD. As a matter of fact I've never heard an amp get this loud before. In my opinion 85% of what it models (amps, pedals, etc) are simply amazing! The price is a little high but if you're a serious player you'll probably say that it's the best money you ever spent. Over the years Line 6 has had many great products, this one puts all the others to shame. In addition to being the best Line 6 amp/product, it's also the best modeling amp in the world. A must buy!

Once you get the hang of it...

I purchased this amp because a lot of Artists I listen to use it live and in studio. On one occasion I saw one of the bands live and was wondering What kind of setup they had. I looked behind them and confirmed online later on that nihgt that they were indeed using a Line 6 Vetta II and FBV direct into the mains. So I was sold after that. This is truley an amazing amp. I'll be honest, once tinkering with it, it took me literally HOURS to dial in the sounds I wanted, There were squeels and ear pinching moments, and for a second I thought I had made a mistake purchasing this, but after a while I got the hang of it and started dialing in some cool stuff. Once I found the tones and effects I wanted, I just couldn't stop playing. This is a tweakers amp for sure, and what's funny is that for the longest time I was "The" Tube snob of snobs, I had a plethora of gear in my old band, I had the racks, pedals and big named Stack but when it came right down to it, I still thought I lacked a decent tone from anything I tried doing. The few months I have used the Vetta II I realized why all those big named artists used this amp, and after a while it's actually easy to get the amp to sound the way I wanted it too. I strongly reccomend reading the Pilots Manual though, and playing with the knobs and effects as much as possible. I would reccomend this to any pro-player who wants the tone and versitility to take them to the next level.

Heck of an Amp

Heck of a bargain! 5-minutes in the manual and you can tweak and save your favorite sounds. Does it all and then some. I own the CTSE and both of these amps have their own special qualities. Both are keepers and push the limit with dollar for dollar value. My wife cringed when I bought it and told the salesman that her husband (the living room rock star) didn't need that much amp. Salesman replies: Its living room rock stars that keep us in business! Dude was right and made a great sale. Line 6 makes great amps with great effects. Try the Flextone III XL if you can't swing the Vetta. The XL is one dang great amp too!

I've owned the Vetta II combo for over three years and it's still my favorite amp. It still out-performs every other amp I've tried in all aspects. It's really great if you're using multiple guitars with different output levels (single coil verses humbucker, etc) because you can save a channel for each guitar and adjust the preamp volumes according to the guitar's output so that your overall master volume level is the same for all guitars. The tones are incredible and keep their integrity at all volume levels. My only gripe is those pesky chrome knobs that come with the amp...you have to call Line 6 and have them send you a set of light plastic knobs because the stock knobs move and change your settings from the vibration of the speakers (even at moderately low volume levels)--hence the 4.5 in quality. Other than that, I would buy this amp again and again I and recommend it to any guitarist. It works for every music genre that requires a guitar.
