This amp exemplifies what I've been waiting for from Line 6; the versatility of Line 6 functionality and effects with the authentic tone of a boutique style tube amp. For Line 6 patrons or skeptics alike, the Spider Valve Mk II eliminates any trace of the cold, digital tone you’ve heard in the past. The ability to play through a tube amp while maintaining access to world class effects and the option to save the tones you craft is a dream for guitar players.
The Spider Valve Mk II is the perfect marriage of the convenience I need as a singer/guitarist and the tone I want as a guitarist. If you're a Vetta owner, you'll appreciate the more straight-forward interface offered by the Spider Valve Mk II. Dialing in great tones with the Spider Valve Mk II is not nearly the production it was with Vetta. I dialed in a thick, creamy distortion tone on the Spider Valve Mk II in about 10 - 15 minutes. Not to say that I won't tweak it more, but you get something great to work with right away.
The introduction of "SmartFX" on the Spider Valve Mk II improves upon a critically acclaimed Line 6 effects collection and makes it even easier to add and customize them into your tone. Another fantastic addition to the Spider Valve Mk II is the 14 second sound-on-sound looper. The looper is accessible right from the Line 6 FBV Mk II short board, which is very convenient; you get a great looper while minimizing stage clutter.
Lastly, I have to give props to Line 6 for making this product available at a price I honestly don't understand. They could charge double what they're asking for this amp and it would still be reasonable. I also respect Line 6 for not attempting to create this amp by themselves. Teaming up with a legend in the tube amp community line Bogner was a great call; it produced a truly excellent, well rounded product for guitarists that combine the individual experience and mastery of the two parties.
Great Deal for Price

I owned the SV and this is definitely an improvement over the original for the deep fx editing alone.
The best way to get great "tube" response out of this amp without rattling the foundation of your dwelling (yes it's that loud) is to turn your Master volume up to around %50 and go through and adjust your Chanel Volume to a more acceptable level.
"Tube" response is so subjective I won't say one way or the other whether its just as good as or better than this or that "True" tube amp as this is a "True" tube amp with "True" tube response and you either like the sound and interaction or you don't ... I do.
Also if you play covers this amp was made for you everything from Jazz/Chorus or AC30 fat buttery cleans to Blues Crunch to the most massive high gain you could ever want and it's super clean quiet.
Match it up with a MKII floorboard and it's a dream amp your favorite amps all rolled into one.
I gave a 4.5 on quality for noisy Master volume knob at low levels.
to the guy saying this is not a tube amp

This is a tube amp it has analog in to digital to runs effects goes back to digital has pre amp tubes and also has power tubes uh thats about as tube as you'll get i also have a Marshal stack and it's ok they are what they are but you cant take my three stacks on stage and switchem around for each song and have them sound great after a little self tuning! Think about it!

Features- I give this amp a 4.0 features bc it has a very user friendly interface looks very clean and has built in FX
Quality- The reason im so down on the quality of this amp is because of the sound. . this amp is basically a glorified pod,the tubes just give it more push rather than feel or tone this was the biggest draw back for me when i bought this amp it is by no means a true tube amp it has a sloid state input to a DSP stage then tube output
(strymon makes a mod called the SVpre to help this but im not at liberty to say if it helps this)but overall the amp seems built very well the XLR direct out is a plus if you would ever like to run directly into a p.a. and midi is always a plus.
Value- This is a newer amp and i dont see it going anywhere anytime soon so i dont see the value shifting at all and i do not see this amp taking up the status of something like a mesa boogie or marshall. . . . ever.
Overall- Well i give this a three mostly because of the lacking tone. Overall this is a good amp but if you are a huge tone freak like me and ten hundred thousand other gigging guitarists and want that true tube tone/clairity this is not the amp for you.

This head is amazing!!!!!! Evry time i run it all i can say is wow! Its very easy to use. I advise using the line 6 cab that is made for it or another type of higher quality cab or aomething with good quality speakers. I plugged it in to the vintage 30 cab and this thing SCREAMS i play metal so its perfect. The other settings are good too. it sound pretty good on a marshall mc 4x12 cab but either would suffice. You deffinatly cant go wrong with this head as long as you got enough cab to go with it!!
