Not a bad amp for the price. I've ownd the amp for around 2 weeks and bought it at my local music store. I like the amp it plays wekk with a squire strat, but if you can afford a vypyr for the price i would rewccomend trading up. Line 6 did an excelent job with this amp overall.

Got a Spider IV 75 for a light weight grab and go amp that includes effects. Amp arrived in perfect condition. After a period of time reviewing the presets and setting up some user banks, I'm really happy with the sound, volume and quality. Hummmms with a PRS and sings sweetly with a Strat. Quite an amp for the low cost. Fits my requirement well for a light amp to take to rehearsals and serve as a backup performance amp for small venues or any venue with a good PA. Good job Line-6!

i own a spider jam based on the spider 3 tech, and the amp is great for practice but the sounds are definatly lacking and the effects don't cut it either. the spider 4 has sounds approaching analog, i have been able to dial in the sounds i need for rock country and blues, the metal sounds are great as well. having 20 fully dialable effects (4 at a time) is awesome. i highly recomend the shortboard for live situations. i have a friend who is tube snob and he was so impressed he is thinking of getting the spider iv for himself.

The Spider IV is a great all around amp at a great value. The amp models, effects, and touch sensitivity/response is much improved. Don't listen to the reviewer who says that it's only a metal amp. Clearly he doesn't know what he's doing so he just recites the usual digital catch phrases. Yes it does do metal very well, but the new Class A amp model is fantastic. The Blues and Crunch models also sound good. The Clean sounds are also much improved since the Spider III. The quality of the effects and control you have over the effects, noise gate, and boost is far beyond any other modeling amp. The intelligent pitch shifter is a nice addition. I would have liked a little more time on the looper, but it serves the purpose. I wasn't a fan at all of the Spider III and chose the Peavey Vypyr instead. Then after having tons of problems with multiple Vypyr amps (all of which I had to return)Line 6 released the Spider IV and I have to say that for the money there isn't a better, more versatile modeling amp currently available.

Yes, it's a bit flat, but it's good for what it is. I bought one, and now I bought a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe and it is amazing, but it's totally different animal. LINE 6 makes decent solid state amps. So save your money for a tube amp, but remember, there are cheap tube amps too that sound awful. Cheers Sincerely John Castello
