I own the earlier version of this (Line 6 Spider III) so I tried this out in a music store a little bit. It's similar, but there are a few differences. The effects are pretty fun to mess around with and you can get some good sounds with them. It's a decent practice amp and I have not had any problems with my Spider III through the years and I can assume they improved it.

At first use, i liked this amp for a nice practice amp. well after a few weeks it got more and more on my nerves. Changing amp models turns on misc effects... this is a dumb feature. the worst thing Is the crunch channel. I'm not a metal player. i Play rockabilly, christian contemp, and hard rock sort of stuff, and the crunch gain is the base sound I need a lot of the time. Unfortunately if you do anything other then bang power chords they have so much noise gate on it you have almost no sustain. yeah its just a practice amp but the poor sound just really bothers me. No issue like this on the metal red channel, but its to much gain for what I play even cranked down, and not the right sound
