I had my lead guitarist come to practice one day and this amp blew my half stack marshall away! It was louder, had more power, better effects, and was easier to haul around. The way you could manipulate the effects was so killer and genius! Did great at any venue. Would highly suggest getting the floor pod to utilize all the features on the amp. If I could do it again, Id be buying this amp!! Another plus, its excellent when it comes time to record!!

I've been playing the Spider 2 75/1-12 for four years and have no complaints, except for one, needed more juice for bigger gigs. Just picked up a hardly used Spider 3 150/2-12 for a song. After searching for a tube amp for a year, I took a look at the 150 and realized what a great amp it is. It's a house shaker even on the clear channels and I can hear myself over the drums and the Bass. There are more choices for sounds at your finger tips than any mortal would need. I only wish I were able to delete some of the heavier stuff I'll never use. The Spider IV has the built in looper which is a nice addition, but my little Boss does fine. Even my acoustic sounds great through this amp. The weight is also nice for gigging since I carry my own equipment, the original reason I purchased the Spider II. Even my Roland GR20 sounds better, and my Strat & Tele sing. Give it a try, for the money you can't go wrong.

This amp totally rocks the compitition
I wrote to marshall if you guys made your amp with these features you would deep six any amp for years to come this spider IV does everything you could think of and more I own 2 marshalls
a slew of gear and now I just grab a guitar and one small light amp and away I go I have always loved marshall for shear power until now quality sound tons of power for any event I dont have to hire a roady any more my jamming mates were floored even the drummer keeps telling me to turn down try this amp any spider III or IV you will hear the difference immediately and buy one J Curtis

I have used JCM 800 lead stacks since 1987 and have never heard anything that comes close to the power and crunch mids and sustaining, singing highs til I got my hands on this Spider IV 150watt. This amp does everything..from great effects to more than enough power for any venue including outdoors... I've never heard anything like it other than my Marshall Stack with a midi controller coupled in... The really neat thing about this whole deal is: NO MORE LOADING, UNLOADING, STACKING UP, DRAGGING AROUND my Marshalls.....Wowwwwwww If you want a great amp that does it all at a SUPER price you owe it to yourself to buy this ! ! ! At the same time get the Line6 FBV Shortboard to really make this amp truly functional on stage... I did and I love it.
My back already feels better ! ! ! I still love Marshalls, but probably won't be using mine anytime soon... Larry C
