Smart FX
Smart FX knobs put award-winning Line 6 effects at your fingertips. Easy to use, Smart FX let you spend less time tweaking and more time playing. Quickly add or remove any amount of the 20 lush reverbs, exceptional echoes, tangy mods, and more. Make all your adjustments on the fly—all the knobs are on the front panel. Up to 4 Smart FX can be used simultaneously.
Go deeper into FX
Deep dive into your effects like never before! Every effect is fully adjustable up to 7 parameters deep, including pre- and post-amplifier routing. Sculpt your delays, mods, reverbs, pitch effects, and more with unparalleled control.
Spider FX Infusion
What's better than more effects? More effects for free! Line 6 Spider FX Infusion (a free download from Line6.com) more than doubles your amount of Smart FX. Beef up your Spider IV 120 with 28 additional overdrives, compressors, delays, reverbs, mods, and wahs. You'll have more effects than any other modeling amplifier!
Pitch effects (Smart Harmony and Pitch Glide)
Smart Harmony is Line 6's first intelligent pitch shifter. It's fast-tracking and easy to use. Harmonize using major, minor, pentatonic, whole tone, and other types of scales. (Don't worry, you don't need to know music theory to use Smart Harmony).
Pitch Glide is most effective when used with an FBV MkII foot controller. Use the foot pedal to smoothly shift your tone up or down to any interval within a four-octave range. The effect can be calibrated to semitones, or to 10-cent increments to create cool chorus/detuning effects.
Quick loop
Quick Loop is a 14-second sound-on-sound looper that's ideal for writing songs, practicing solos, jamming, and even dialing in your tone. Easy to use, Quick Loop's controls are all on the front panel. Connect an FBV MkII foot controller for handsfree control of the looper functions.
Simultaneous FX
Use up to 8 effects at the same time! Pour on the colors and textures with all 4 Smart FX, set the adjustable Boost and the Noise Gate, activate Quick Loop, and connect an FBV MkII foot controller to kick on the volume/wah pedal. How many other amplifiers can do that?
Speak up
Celestion guitar speakers are world renowned for their exceptional definition, clarity, and feel. And that's just what they give to Line 6 Spider IV guitar amp. The 2x10" Celestion custom speakers help clean tones sparkle and sing, creamy overdrives respond to the intricacies of your picking, and searing brutal tones launch themselves from the cabinet.
Manual mode
Manual mode draws a more traditional amplifier experience out of Line 6 Spider IV 120. When Manual mode is activated, all front-panel knobs work independently of one another. (Out of Manual mode, choosing an amp model may adjust the settings of the other front-panel knobs.)
Stay focused
To get the whole story of Line 6 Spider IV 120, you need to turn one around. It features a perfectly tuned three-quarter closed-back cabinet. This provides a tight, punchy, focused response that you can't get from an open-back guitar speaker cabinet.
Tune up
You'll always sound your best with the Line 6 Spider amp's built-in tuner. No need for an external tuner or additional guitar cables, this invaluable tool is integrated into the amp's front panel. Activate the tuner with the push of a button.
Window to the soul
A large, two-line LCD is your window into Line 6 Spider IV 120 amplifier. This is where you can deep dive into effects and adjust their parameters, scroll over 500 presets, see the tuner interface, name your user-created presets, get a visual representation of where your Smart FX knobs are set, and more.
Downloads and upgrades
Keep your Line 6 Spider IV 120 guitar amp up to date with an FBV MkII foot controller. Connect the Spider IV 120 to Line6.com via an FBV MkII foot controller to receiver valuable software and firmware updates and upgrades. These updates may include new features, presets, or effects.

They both feature a full-sized volume/wah pedal, chromatic tuner display, bright LEDs, durable footswitches and chassis, and more. Very decent amp for the price, the features are very nice, sounds flawless. I'm the lead guitarist of a Metal/deathcore band and i've been using Line 6 amps for 9 years and each amp has lasted at least 3 or 4 years with an hour to two each day gig play. The only con I have with this amp is that when you turn the volume a little over half way the "palm-muting" starts to sound a little muffled. So it's not the best high volume amp for gigs. Overall I use this for practicing/jamming with the band mates and i'm very pleased to own it.

I have been playing guitar for a few years now and needed a better amp. So i saw this and tried it in my local store and bought it just for kicks. Basically, this amp is for playing around. Its a good value for all you get, but all you get are effects. I have spent numerous hours playing on it and dialing in tones, and its very hard. It seems like you cant ever achieve your own tone. you can choose from a few "starting" sounds, but from that point you can only add effects. The equalizer isnt much to talk about, and i dont like how fake the reverb sounds because its solid state and not a tube amp. So in the end you cant get a distinguished tone like your after Some good things about it..
-its pretty loud. it rivals my buddies peavey valveking until he hits about 7 on the master volume.
- some of the artist presets are really cool. i liked seeing jazz artists presets, rock bands, and even some As I Lay Dying.
- the smart harmony feature is really cool
- it feels solidly constructed and good quality. Some things i didnt personally like...
- when you save a preset, it saves every dials spot. so leave the channel volume in the same place and dont bump it. i always seem to bump that dial and it will just BLAST my eardrum because i saved that sound with a low channel volume, then i turn it up later then bump it and its on like 9 when it was originally on like 2.
- even though its my most expensive solid state amp, it still sounds very dry and rough. the distortion is very wild.
- i think the reverb is a joke. so basically this is a great amp if you want to just play around and play on all the presets, but dont expect to get your own distinguished RAW tone. you can just add aggravating effects to a simple starting sound.

If you want to make a lot of noise - get this amp. If you want to make great music don't waste your time. There's a lot of tone distortion when turning the amp over 1/2 way and an annoying hum when using pedals. Presets are great however but if you have pedals get a frontman...

My brand spankin' new Spider IV 120 arrived in the mail yesterday. I couldn't wait to get it out of the box, plug it in an turn it on... and watch the amp lock up. I turned it off, and back on again, but it was still locked up. I called Line 6 and they said they haven't heard of that problem yet because the amp is so new, so I'm sending it back in. Based on my prior Line 6 amp, I'm giving the features 5 stars because they are always brimming with awesome presets and amp models. I just hope the replacement one works better than this one...
