Amp Models

Granted, there are a lot of effects on this amp. same thing with many Line 6 amps, but the spiders all sound very digital. I don't know how anyone could use this amp and not hear the digital tones from it. I've used this amp before and I cant seem to find out the reason for the hype of this amp. it's not all that great. the only reason i would buy a spider series amp is if were the 15 watt combo and was just for home use. these are way too digital and a waste of money. WATTS =/= BETTER. my 30 watt Vox AD30VT can over power a drummer and still sounds better. stay away from high wattage spiders.

i was looking for my first head because i needed to complete my setup with my B-52 cab which is loud as hell. this head and the reviews made it seem good. it is good and the price is perfect for those like myself who are trying to do something with music like being in a band. this head isnt loud enough for me at practice, maybe thats just my metal instincts kicking in. i plan on buying some sort of boost pedal that ive been reading on. overall this head is perfect its got everything you need. sounds amazing and easy to use great for all styles. just make sure you know what your really getting before making a purchase, do your research people. feel free to email me for tips on helping get my amp to be louder, its my only problem.

This little head is great for the price. Great sounds...good distortion...nice little effects. the only downfall is the pedal is sold separately. Line6 should really consider at the very least selling it with the scrolling channel pedal. Other than that, great amp!

If you are a performing musician however, I would recommend getting the 150watt head I have used this a few times so far playing out and with 2 or 3 hundred people you need at least 150watts.

I'd like to start by saying that I bought this head to accompany my 400 Carvin cab, for playing live. I use to own its little brother the spider II 30w combo and liked it for just jamming around the house.

Well the spider III has a moderately good clean channel, which sounds beautiful with slight reverb and a little chorus thrown in the.

The Crunch channel is actually one of my favorite...I run it with the bass, mid, treble and gain fully cranked, and the distortion bosst on, no noisegate and full reverb too. Its great for grungy type stuff and classic rock.

I never really use the metal channel, the sound is to gainy and trebly. I actually run it as clean as possible and throw tape echo and slight phaser in there too.

The insane channel is good for metal, you can play most death, and grind stuff pretty good on it. Too much gain can sound bad so I run it about halfway. Playing lead on it is kind of sketchy but it works.

Other than that I might add that its a very durable amp...it's been in a couple of spills and keeps rocking, so for a decent cheap head I would go with this amp.

I was in Dallas over Christmas time and kind of put out because my main amp was down. I have a New Year's eve bash coming up and can't be without my main amp. I haven't had a back up amp ever because my mian amp has been incredible to me for 14 years without so much as changing a tube. The main board died and I was left high and dry. While in Dallas I stopped by a music store to check it out. I was so blown away because I had every amp at my finger tips. I had a Marshall, a Boogie, and even could get an incredible sound in the clean mode that was very much like a smooth Fender Twin. It doesn't have the volume of a tube amp, but it's 75 watts, and that's plenty for most places. If you need more volume, run into the PA, the line out is incredible!! There's plenty of room to do a lot with this, your own limits are within yourself.
