Just buy the regular Pocket Pod

Just buy the regular Pocket Pod. It has way more amp models and effects, USB interface and programming software, much better tuner and a display so you can tell what's going on. Seriously, for the price difference there really is NO reason to limit yourself with the P.P Express.

Volume levels are all over the map and I don’t notice a major difference in tone without adjusting the volume. That said, put on a pair of headphones and this becomes a very cool device to practice with. I prefer the “twang” and “metal” settings with a little chorus and a modest amount of “hall” setting while letting the guitar do the rest of the work. The other effects are nice to have but hard to use since rotary knobs control them all. Don’t know what’s with AAA batteries when every other effect I own takes a 9-volt and yes it does feel kind of cheap and the tuner is worthless. This would make a great Christmas present for the parent who doesn’t want to listen to their kid practice all night long. Just remember, it’s not going to replace a good effects pedal.

Built well but awful tone

This version of pocket pod has awful tone. The amp modeling is not appreciably different and the effects are flat. The concept is great ... simple to use and portable. The sound is bland and uninteresting ... a giant step back from the Pocket Pod (which is excellent).

Barf 6!

Line 6 is excellent at making phony replicas of tones. This one is good for stand alone use if your expections are somewhat low and you want a tiny plug n' play. The chorus is shiny. As a standalone, the metal selection is laughable, just like the onboard "so-called" tuner.
It is plastic and cheap feeling to the touch.
Do not even think about putting effects before this unit like distortion. It will twist your tone and EQs into the land of sad brittle glass of no return, which will basically ruin your hearing with time. If your looking for a practice module that sounds warm direct, just go with a Roland Cube 15.

Its a decent product, you get a flange, an alright delay, the chorus is actually pretty good for playing stuff like Boston. The amp models are pretty good, you can't get any rough tones though, like don't expect to play any modern metal, metalcore, hardcore, or anything of that nature. The tuner...is sketchy, it took me 15 minutes to figure it out, and is semi-accurate. Overall, you get what you pay for.
