I've been playing guitar for almost 40 years and have continually strived to achieve those ultimate sounds that sit somewhere in your brain, but just don't seem to come out of your amp. After trying many combinations of top-end amps/cabs and effects over the years, I've finally found something that delivers what I'm looking for - all in one unit.

The POD X3 Live is incredible, delivering everything from a range of both clear-crunch and smooth Marshall/LP sounds to a perfect replica of David Gilmor's Comfortably Numb solo sound. With use of the Gearbox interface, creating and organizing your tones is quite easy. In addition to the presets, there are thousands of compatable tones available for downloading from the Line 6 community, which can simply be downloaded, dragged and dropped into Gearbox and saved on the POD X3 Live. You can make copies of the presets or downloads and tweak them, or build your own sound from the ground up.

I've had my X3 Live for just 2 weeks now and have quadrupled my playing time. I can't put it down. It is solidly built and supports virtually any type of connection you can imagine. I have never before submitted a review, but in my opinion, this product is truly outstanding.

I purchased one of these from Guitar Center. Less then one week later the volume pedal was not functioning properly. I took it back to Guitar Center and traded it in for a new one. That was only a week ago but the volume pedal is still functioning. If you do go buy one in the store check it out and make sure it's brand new and not returned. From what I've read on some blogs this volume pedal issue happens a lot. Besides the volume pedal issue... I love this pedal.

After practice today a 30+ pound SKB rack accidentally dropped on my X3 Live from the top of a 4x12 cabinet. I thought for sure it was at least going to be cracked or worse, broken....Nothing. Not a scratch on it. Line 6 gets 5 stars for durability.

I did a lot of research before buying this, i saved money for a lot of time and i needed to make a good investement, so i read features of pedals like zoom g9, boss gt 10, digitech rp 500, and tried other few multiFX, i decided to buy this one, why? well the X3 can be used with guitars vocals or bass AND RIGS 2 AT THE SAME TIME!! The amp simulations arent that good if you use it on a guitar amp, but on a PA dude it's like having the real thing in front of you, my favorite its the Diezel VH4 model, i have like one year with it, have played some gigs and it's relliable the buttons can look weak but they have lasted for a good time, the effects are really good except for the "bender" (wahmy FX) it could be better, but the other 120 FX are just AWESOME!! recording whit this is EASY and sounds like a pro recording without all the problems of mic amps, if you dont have money for a lot of pedals, a boutique tube amp, and dont want ro carry a entire rack, BUY THIS seriously, not a tube amp, but 78 INCREDIBLE modeled amps in your hands!

Great unit. Has replaced my trusty tube amp and pedals for live use. No longer hauling tons of gear around. Amp modelling is great, effects sound very clean. I still love analog stuff but for convenience this thing cant be beat. Word of warning - do not expect to show up at a gig after never using this thing and expect great tone instantly. You will hate the pod, and your life. You need to be prepared to spend a few hours learning, and tweaking the unit to ger great sounds. If you have no idea what good tone is in the first place, dont ever bother. Go back to your crate amp and hopelessly overdriven sound. Also, you need a good p/a and monitor system to run this thing into, or, you'll hate it. A lot of folks forget about this crucial point. Unit also sounds good into an amp if you turn the amp modeling off first.
