Perfect for certain uses....

There are certain gigs that other amps just can't do.... For acoustic players, the 5th channel for acoustic guitar sounds great, with a little EQ, allowing back-yard guitar/vocal amplification, with zero hassle - For electric players, use it for home rehearsal, plug the DI into the PA for bigger rehearsals & small gigs, - By itself, don't expect a huge amount of gain, but it's got a tuner, good tap-delay, and decent battery-life - For instance, I played a few solo guitar/vocal gigs with this - It was perfect for the occasion - I'll use my Fishman Loudbox 100 for anything else - but, I love this little amp - - -

I've had this amp for about six months now, I specifically picked this one for the small size for my dorm room. It worked great for about 3 of those six months and now it won't even turn on. (trying to use line 6 customer support is annoying too) The tuner also is worthless, I have to use a different tuner to get my guitar actually in tune. the tone sounds too sharp and pushy, like the little amp is trying to be something it's not. The knobs are flimsy- just feels overall cheaply made. I'd say i'm not impressed. I have the spider 3 75 watt and the lowdown 300 pro and both those work perfectly. something about this guitar amp just doesn't fit.

I'm currently saving up to buy this! I was screwing around at a guitar shop and I walked past and saw the "Insane" setting, I laughed at it and I picked up a guitar & plugged it in for a goof. I had to turn the volume down cuz it kept wanting to blow the roof off the store, but after this low low volume setting the "Insane" tone was really REALLY GOOD and pretty much exactly what I've been looking for in super low volume. All of the settings were cool; but that "Insane" setting was just too sweet for me to pass up. I love VOX amps and have a couple VOX practice amps, and this Line 6 one really connected with me. Not better or worse than VOX, I would say equal sound quality but different character. Try it out for yourself next time you pass one on a shelf! So much fun.

Surprising Sounds

I purchased this because it is portable has a tuner and more tone options than Vox and Rolland. I was pleasantly surprised when I went through the preset tones. They are very close to what I would want them to sound like, and with the flexibility of the controls I got just what I wanted and you can save your settings (including the Chanel Volume)! The effects are basic (with different levels)but you can have a modulation and delay effect at the same time and save to your chanel presets. Nice job Line6!

Great little amp

I bought this little amp to help me recover from surgery. A week or two of just stay-at-home beckoned, the sum was shining and I have a nice yard...what better than to sit in a comfy chair, on the deck, Les Paul and this little fellow?

At 6 watts it can go loud enough to keep yourself happy without driving wife, neighbours and animals mad. I use mainly the clean and crunch settings for play and practice, and I've used the others for fun and just to see what they're like.

The sound is great for such a small box. I'm not allowed to lift anything more than 10 lb after surgery, so I can move this little guy around without problems.

4.5 for featues...the missing feature for me is a metronome. This is an ALMOST one-box-that-does-all, but I also need to harry a metronome with it. As I practice a lot with a metronome, and this is a practice amp, a simple click-only metronome would have given me everything I needed for my exile in the yard in one box.

4.5 for quality is a little harsh...should have been 4.9. Just one niggle, on power-on the chorus FX is on, even though the knob is off. Just turn it on, then off again fixes it but its a little nuisance.

That said, 10 for value and 10 for overall represent a fair score for such a cheap device that does so much. I plug in my iPod, fire up some backing tracks (and click tracks in the absence of the 'nome), hit crunch and recovering from surgery is not so bad. Thank you Line 6!
