Line 6 has recently released firmware version 2.01 for this unit. It adds many more effects and capabilities that satisfy the requests/complaints in the previous reviews. Check out their website for the additions and changes.
This unit is just fantastic. Sound quality is excellent, and models are very accurate. The fx loop is very welcome as well. It's a necessity if you use your amp's distortion and want good clean delays/mods/etc.. post-amp. Add some expression pedals, set up some pedalboard scenes, and you're ready to go. You never have to worry about wiring and powering another pedalboard again. No more finding the faulty cable or power cord causing signal drops and noise. You get good clean tone, and as many effects as you can handle.

My Gear: Gibson ES-335 and Anthem PST20 guitars, Vox AC30CC (chinese reissue, but has been rewired by hand)
Context of Use: I do 150-200 shows a year as a full time touring musician.
Love all the Delays, Verbs, Mods, and compression. All the effects are great, you're basically getting all Line-6 stomp-boxes in one board which makes it an insanely great value.
The only weakness, and it is a pretty minor one, is the distortions. They do, to the trained ear sound a little processed, thin, and lack the warmth of a 'real pedal'. There are actually a few exceptions where they're as warm and less noisy than the pedal they're modeling (the big muff model comes to mind), but generally speaking they're not as good. On the other hand, other than the other musicians in the room, 99% of your audience isn't going to know the difference.
What I've done is kept my Fulltone GT-500 for OD/Distortion and the M13 for everything else. I've had a few of my friends who are also pros test drive it and have had all good feedback from them, truly a great pedal.
I recently had mine stolen and bought a new one the same day.
Another thing to note, that may have been noted in a few other reviews is that the learning curve is, if you've used a few pedals, about 30 seconds.
The Tuner is accurate (again a great value saving you another $100 not having to have a TU-2). I don't use the looper a whole lot, but what little I have it works great.
The one thing I wish it had, and maybe it does and I've missed it, would be some sort of harmonization (ie Electro Harmnix P.O.G. or Boss octave type model).
Again, for the $500 it's a great buy, same as buying 20+ very useful pedals.

I am not a heavy pedal effects guy, but more of a purist who believes that the guitar's original tone is the best way to go. So I was looking into building a simple pedal board, I came across this. I talked to couple guys about it and thought about it and eventually bought it. I plugged it in and messed around with it for a bit. First off figuring out the ALL controls took me 5 minutes and was very intuitive. Second each of the modelers produced very good replications of what they were trying to mimic. Even though it is a digital, the people at Line 6 created a very good modeler. The average ear could not tell the difference between this digital modeler to the original analog counterparts. The build quality is impressive as well. It is quite heavy and the metal casing seems to be tough although I have not yet gigged with it. Overall I must say that if you are not that into individual pedals this is the way to go or at least give it a chance. Of course nothing beats the original analog pedals, but this does a pretty damn good job of replicating it.

First of all, I give this a 4.5 for features because there is not auto wah, and in order to get a wah, you must buy an expression pedal. I think that is something that should be included. Other than that, this thing is amazing! I also must defend this to the previous users comments. It does have a noise gate built in to the settings. READ your manual. You do not have to use the noise gate as a pedal! Also, do not listen to anyone about the distortions as they are amazing. Maybe the other users are not using a tube amp so they are not getting a good sound. I play through a Fender Deluxe and I must say that the RAT and the Chandler tube driver sound amazing and are my two fav's. In fact, other than the delays, the distortions/compressors are the second best features. The reverbs are kind of weak in my opinion, but the built-in reverb on my amp is hard to beat. Also, running everything but the distortions/comps through the effects loop is genius. It makes the effects really shine. IF you are even considering this buy it, you will not be disappointed! I am by no means a Line 6 fan boy (now I may be), but I must say this modeling pedal is nothing short of genius. I just can't believe it. 15 years ago I would never have even considered modeling, but I'm not sure I could even tell the difference with this and the originals. Really. Just buy it and sell all of your other pedals minus your wah (I did and have no regrets). You won't need them anymore!

THE BEST PEDAL PERIOD!

Real simple gang. After their most recent update to 2.0. (you will have to update as the pedals out in market right now do not have the update, the update is free from Line 6) This pedal is freakishly good. You can gig with this, you can get rid of most if not all your pedals. Very simple to use, great looper, on board tuner and quick learning curve. Just keep in mind you will want to tweak every setting. It is the BEST pedal under a grand when compared to Boss, TC Electronic & Digitech. No it does not have amp modeling, it is a PEDALBOARD. And for what it does, OUTSTANDING! 5 Stars to Line 6. I am NOT a line 6 apologist or hack. This is the first product from them that I am overwhelmingly pleased with.
