If you're looking for the pedal in the picture - forget it. You don't get the coffee cup or the cream colored knobs. Keeley changed the design and did not tell anyone - including thier own webmaster. Hopefully it's the same inside but they don't tell us that either. Hopefully you like the surprise in the box!

ANOTHER KEELEY CLASSIC

After realizing the Keeley Katana Clean Boost simply wasn't for me (I play in small places, no need for all those dBs), I decided to exchange it for the Java Treble Boost. I'm glad I did. This is another of those subtle Keeley pedals that you don't really realize how much need until you turn it off. I give it a stomp for all my solos (using the middle toggle switch for treble, with the knobs both at 1 o'clock), and really helps those thin upper-stringed notes sing all day long. Also, as it's not a clean boost, you get this punch to your notes that makes them more defined and in your face. Run after a Keeley Compressor and before a vintage ProCo Rat (with the lm308n chip) it sounds devine!

The pedal is based on the old Texas Ranger boost pedal, which Clapton used mainly in the Bluesbreakers, and while I could've gotten their re-issue pedal (which Warren Haynes uses, among others) I am supremely satisfied with this one. I'd say check that one out else as well, it's on this site, but for me Keeley is where it's at.

I had heard Of treble boosters I did...

I had heard Of treble boosters I did some research and bought a Java Boost Its an "old school" Circuit .It has the Mullard Oc44 inside, The one that is talked about amongst Gear heads. The pedal was designed to be played with a tube amp that is already distorting a little . It drives the Full /mid / treble Frequencies into your tube amp, all selectable by a mini toggle switch I leave it on all the time It is an integral part of my sound I think of the "Whole lotta Love"solo, Black Sabbaths" Wicked World" solo. It approaches a Brian May sound

Spectacular and Versitile

I just received my Java Boost today and I must start by saying that it is everything I wanted, needed, expected in an FX pedal!!!

I am able to use it with my Les Paul and Strat with a simple flick of a switch.

I love the bite and clarity added to the Les Paul (difficult with a distortion of overdrive pedal) and the Umph added the the Strat. Both guitars clean up perfectly at the volume knob on the guitar without losing volume (also, something that can not be accomplished with a destortion or overdrive pedal).

I use a Marshall SPL 100 handwired or a Mesa Mark III and both can be dialed in quickly and perfectly. The Java Boost can operate perfectly without any other pedal in the chain if desired, and my vintage Wah has no problem with either guitar in front of the Java Boost.

Thanks for a great product! (I also have and use a Katana)
