Ive been playing guitar for many years and never thought i would ever use a compressor, for one reason i never understood what they did until a few years ago i thought i would try em i first tried a boss compressor it was ok but was too distorted for my taste then i ordered a keeley 4 knob compressor, WOW what a pedal it put my sound on steroids i do alot of finger picking and hybrid playing and it get a perfect sound for any style blues, rock, metal, surf, country, etc.

the settings i use is

sustain: 3 level: 9 to 12 it varies attack: 12 clipping: 5

thanks keeley for making a wonderful product

i suggest this to anyone who wants a perfect sound

I have been using the Keeley Compressor for almost 3 years and leave it on all the time. It is the most transparent compressor there is out there. It just transforms your tone and gives it the sustain you've been looking for. I use it in front of an Xotic AC Booster and Xotic BB preamp and from there into my Mesa Lonestar. It sounds fantastic. I have the Sustain set to 12 oclock and Level at 3 o'clock.

This pedal is a must have for all great guitar players. It's not flashy, it doesn't look cool, it won't turn you into jimi hendrix and you won't see reviews say "woah!" or "crazy sounds," but make no mistake, you NEED this pedal! It takes plucking plastic onto metal wires and turns it into an electric guitar. More crisp, more vibrant... just more, and better.

Here's what you do: but this pedal right now, put it first in your line of effects (S to 10oclock, L to 2) and adjust all your other pedals around that (because you will never turn it off). Play with it for a week, get used to hearing your guitar with it on, and then in the middle of a jam one day just turn it off. Play for about 10 minutes, then turn it back on and keep jamming. After that, I dare you to return it....

This is absolutely the most transparent, "un-tone-altering" compressor pedal I have ever heard. The other great thing about this pedal is that it is very simple to operate. I own 4 other compressor pedals and have played a half a dozen or so more. The two problems I find with other pedals are that they take the life out of your tone or have so many knobs that you can't find a good tone even if there is one in there somewhere. The Keeley Compressor gives you pristine sound and easy to use. It will give a little bite to the front end of your clean tone, tighten up your crunch tones, and sustain your leads. I never turn this thing off and I doubt you will either! GET ONE!
