Can't beat it for a beginner

This guitar was recommended by a friend of mine who I trust...and I'm glad I took his advice. No, it doesn't sound as good as a Martin but in the right hands it does a very admirable job! And, as I was told, this you can take to the beach or camping and not worry about. She will have a special place in my heart as this is my first guitar and I am hooked!

I got this guitar as a present about a year ago, from someone who knew very little about guitars. It is, however, a fabulous little guitar. It was my first, and a fantastic intro into the world of guitars: no fret buzz, smooth action, and a comfortable feel. I thought it was at least 160, though my guess was more in the 200 range. I was shocked to find it's only 99. This is an amazing deal and a great instrument.

I bought this guitar at a local music store as a gift. I've been playing guitar for years and this is the best beginner guitar that I have played. The tone is not as full as a higher end guitar, but there was zero fret buzz and the neck is absolutely straight. That's unusual for a guitar in this price range. Great Intro Instrument.

Great Little Guitar

I purchased this guitar based solely on price, and I have more than gotten my money's worth. Has stood up nicely to the wear and tear of the studio, practice, and the road. It has great tone for such an inexpensive guitar, and even sounds good with a sound-hole pickup ran into a PA with a direct box. I've played it on stage next to a 1970's martin and it holds up really well. My only concerns are the action (which is VERY high) and the fact that it doesn't have a strap peg. (I've since installed one with no problems.) All in all, this is an excellent guitar for those who are on a budget, or those interested in playing acoustic guitar for the first time. Sounds amazing with Ernie Ball Earthwood Medium gauge strings.

Well, I got this guitar from a friend in absolutely horrid condition. There was mouse waste all over it, it was covered in old stickers, there were cobwebs in the soundhole and the 5 remaining strings hadn't been replaced in over 3 years. Needless to say, it was in an unplayable condition. Being such a cheap guitar and my friend had no intention of really ever using the guitar, he gave it to me. I brought it home, cleaned it, vacuumed out the soundhole, polished it, cleaned the fretboard and put on some new strings (electric ones, actually.)I also removed the stickers. After I was done cleaning it up, it was a completely different guitar. And aside from the fact the top is a laminate and the back and sides are nato, the size and shape give it a very nice sound. The satin finish is more for preference in terms of playability and cutting costs than improving its natural resonance, in my opinion because the glossier Fender and Martins and Epis are, indeed, better sounding. However, it doesn't put this guitar any further down the list. Especially for the price. I have checked the serial number and it turned out there were 2 on mine, for some reason. I figured out it was made either in 90 or 99, a bit of a difference, but it's getting a bit aged nonetheless. So, it's obviously stood the test of time, among surviving at the aweful environment it was housed within before it came into my possession. The action is EXTREMELY high, so unless you want to put forth no effort into lowering it, look for something else. When I put on electric strings, it helped a lot, however with electrics it's not near as loud or round-sounding. Also, there's no strap button. I think I'll have one installed sooner or later. Considering mine was basically free, I think it was definitely worth it.
