Black Forest, Closeup

The Jackson DKMGT 2008 model has a sleek, sculpted string-through alder body with a carved top and flamed maple veneer for classic Dinky electric guitar style. EMG 81 humbucker and the bridge and EMG 85 humbucker pickup at the neck crank out crunchy rhythms and soaring leads. It also has a bolt-on rock maple neck with a bound, compound radius rosewood fretboard; MOTO piranha fingerboard inlays; and a string-thru body bridge.

Jackson's compound-radius fingerboard curves more dramatically at the nut for easy chording and flattens out as it approaches the neck joint for low-action bends without fretting out. With a more relaxed hand, you'll play better!

A ripping guitar for a good price

I went to a music store looking to buy picks and naturally I picked up the first guitar with EMGs that I could find. Aside from the obvious great sound that EMGs always produce, this guitar felt great and was very affordable. When looking for a guitar to buy, I was looking for an Ibanez or ESP, but after feeling the comfort of this guitar, the great sound and the affordable price I couldn't say no. Buy this if you want a ripping guitar for a good price.

Amazing Guitar

I played this guitar at a local guitar shop, and it really amazed me. I hauled in my big Ibanez TBX150R amp in,sat down, and played it. The EMG 85/81 is a MUST with rock. The distortion was amazingly clean, no buzz what so ever it just blew my mind, and on the clean setting it was acoustic like. The guitar itself is not to light, not to heavy, the neck feels amazing, the sound is crunching and will make you shiver. The only thing is that it's very expensive for what it's made. But worth the cost if you're serious, all and all AMAZING GUITAR! Get it.

A Guitar For The Masses.

This guitar has shocked me among many levels. Just, there are no real words to describe it. I own plenty of Jackson's. From Kelley's to RR's to Dinky's. This is by far one of the best guitars I have to date. I play this guitar straight through a 5150 Peavey head that's hooked with a Behringer 4x12 slant. No pedals needed. Everything about this guitar is amazing. From the action, to the look, to the quality, to the sound. Nothing to me, can really beat this guitar. I really recommend this guitar for everyone to buy. Whether starting out or have been playing for years.

Comfortable

This was the very first Jackson that I'd played on, played a few more since then, and I can't say that I was disapointed by it's tone quality, it sounded great. The thing that I found most noticable was the extremely thin neck. It was very comfortable, almost too comfortable, and made playing a breeze. I gave a lower rating on the value because I thought this guitar could be a little cheaper, but maybe that's because of the active EMGs. Still a very nice guitar.
