The Jackson DK2 Dinky Electric Guitar is both a looker and a screamer with Seymour Duncan STK-1s in the neck/mid and a Duncan JB in the bridge position and flashy finishes. The alder body is fitted with a shred-eriffic rock maple neck and a bound compound-radius rosewood fretboard. Transparent finish models have a stunning flamed maple top. A scalloped heel means uninhibited access to the upper frets, while a Floyd Rose double-locking trem let's you dive as deep as you want. A deluxe Jackson molded case by SKB comes with the package to protect your investment and keep it looking good.

Jackson's compound-radius fingerboard curves more dramatically at the nut for easy chording and flattens out as it approaches the neck joint for low-action bends without fretting out. With a more relaxed hand, you'll play better!

This is my second Jackson, following the DK2M. Again, I bought this as a somewhat beat up floor model, so the price was very attractive. Having said that, this guitar is worth full retail based on the features, playablility, and sound. Overall, I am very impressed. The rosewood fretboard darkens the tone somewhat from the DK2M, and the neck is thicker than the DK2M, but not unconfortable by any means. The neck isn't quite as flat, either. It plays more like a Strat. Tonal options are many with this guitar, and I really like the versatility, playing so many different types of music. The bridge pickup is very hot, with a great sound. The STK single coils have a nice sound as well. The only detraction with the single coils is they are noticeably quieter than the humbucker. The sound, however, is great, like a strat on steroids with a lot of low end. The single coils make it sound somewhere between a tele and a strat. The floyd works great. I noticed three springs on the tremolo, and it actually works somewhat better since it's not as sensitive as the DK2m which had 2 springs. My floor model had a bad tone pot, but that was easily fixed. I am very impressed with the quality of the Jackson japanese-built guitars. I would take this over a similarly priced Stratocaster or other Fender offering. Despite Jackson marketing to the metal crowd, this guitar is far more versatile than one would think.

Wow, if you're looking for a guitar that can do EVERYTHING, this is it! Serious, if you wanna play Lamb of God, you got it, you wanna play Alan Jackson, it'll do that too! I own 2 other Jacksons, and I love them, so I suppose you could say I'm very brand loyal, but that aside, I've owned an American Standard Lone Star Strat (Duncan hunbucker), and an Ibanez S470, and I can say this guitar will play circles around them both. :) The Duncan humbucker has a real nice deep crunch, while the mid and neck singles are as warm as you want them or as bright. Heck, split the singles through a decent amp with the right effects, and you can get a real nice acoustic sound out of it. Really, for the price of this guitar, you're really getting quality stuff. The alder body feels solid and the tuning machines are super smooth. Oh, once you break in your new strings, this Floyd Rose takes a while to take ya outta tune. Very well built!!
