This Ain't a Toy

I own the 12 string and I originally picked up one of these guitars on a lark. At the time I couldn't decide if it was the ugliest guitar I had ever seen or the most gorgeous. The pickups are hot and the sustain is through the roof. I don't need a 12 pound guitar to be satisfied. This guitar and the 12 string sound really great, and I always get compliments on the sound and the style. It has been on tour with me for one year, and sometimes it has traveled 200 miles in the case and came out of it in tune-

I love this guitar and this brand. It may not be for everybody, but this is a great sound addition to my telecaster. Be open minded and give these a try- you will be glad you did-

I have been playing guitar for 46 years and I have had a lot of guitars one of my first was an Italian made EKO a wonderful thing one of the best ever made in 1965 the Italia however falls short of an EKO for the money you could have a great American made axe or German made not a bad axe however for a pro I would not take it on stage for fear of it falling apart for a first time Euro-Guitar it would be good falls way short of the cheapest Hofner!!!

AS COOL AS THEY SAY!

This is my second Italia, and I have to say I am thrilled! My guitar buddies are contantly trying to borrow this for a night, but The instrument has a beautiful pearloid finish. I am told by my local guitar guru that this is an expensive process, and he is not sure how Italia does it so well, at this price. The back is made of solid wood and has a beautiful finish that rivals my American made beauties. The electronics are all Wilkinson brand, and the pickups are extremely versatile. I researched this one well before buying on Harmony Central, and the consesus seems to be that the pickups sound great on all Italias. I now have my eye on the Italia Modulo. I saw Todd Rundgren using one, and it looked amazing on stage. I assume it sounds great too, as he seems to be using it as his main ax.

There is nothing wrong with a flashy guitar, however that should not be the high point. The way the tuners are designed is a good idea, can't say how good they work,(didn't have long enough). One other good feature is the plug in jack. These features are innovative, but NOT enough to justify the price. If u like plastic and cheap electronics, THIS is for you!

a picture is NOT worth a thousand words

I ordered this online, it looked pretty good from the picture. There was only one feature (PLUG IN JACK),that I thought was a good idea. The soapbars sound completely bogus, the neck is not too bad, and the tuners, well, I've seen better. The main problem I had was the guitar is a toy. A bag of fritos weighs more. VERY, VERY cheap looking. I sent this toy back the same day!!
