I got this pedal a few days ago,and im very impressed.I play blues,rock,hard rock,and jazz.This pedal can be used on any style of music that requires distortion,even metal.nice work Ibanez.

My friend gave me this pedal because he doesn't play guitar any more. I also got a boss distortion one too, you know those orange ones. If you were to compare them,ide honestly say that this pedal is much clearer sounding.If you have the distortion knob almost all the way up and the tone almost all the way up with resonable volume, and strum a c chord you can clearly hear each string individiually. If you tremelo pick you can hear the pick scratch the string, its jsut so clear.

As for sound, i think its more for classic rock to maybe alt rock, but not necessarly for metal. You could mess with it all you want, but only get like 3 or 4 osunds not even. Its cheap but definately descent quality. The knobs are sweet because you can dial it in a than just push them back in and they stay that way. To change the battery you jsut hit that black switch on the back of it and it pops open and then u jsut give her some new juice. Ibanez put a very versatile pedal together:)

I have had this pedal for a few weeks now, and I am loving it. I bought this pedal because I needed some way to get distortion on my practice amp. My amp is really small with only one jack for the guitar. the way to set it up is pretty simple...

AMP--->Pedal<--->Guitar

This thing eats batteries so I suggest buyinmg the AC adapter.

I have had this pedal for goin on 3 days now and I have never had such a nice quality tone out of any pedal I have ever used. I use it when I play alot of three days grace, breaking benjamin, chevelle...just a lot of things like that and I recommend anyone and everyone to get this if they want a good hard rock to metal sound.

I bought one of these about 18 months ago because I wanted a simple distortion pedal for a low price. This pedal does everything I could ever want. I use an Ibanez GRX20 and a Kustom amp and this completely brings the tone I haven't found in other pedals. With low gain it brings a nice clean warm sound and high gain just slashes through. This pedal definitly beats the capability of the Boss DS-1 and is a better value than the Digitech Hot Head and other compatible pedals. The metal casing and Pushlok knobs are very useful and can take a whole bunch of abuse offstage and on.
