If this will be your only Guitar and you're serious about playing, maybe you should move into something of higher quality. But if you're not sure if Guitar playing is for you, but want to try, this is an ideal starter Guitar. The strings are close to the frets and easy for making chords and learning your scales. I always take mine along on vacation and love it. It sounds acceptable through a decent amp, and is okay unplugged, especially for singing over and knocking off some acoustic leads. Won't break the bank either.

If all you intend to do is sit around the house and strum a bit, this might be an okay investment, but honestly an extra $50-100 on something else anyway would be well worth it.

My two main problems are that the electronics are cheap (mine broke after two years, though I barely used them, I paid to repair them and they broke again in a month; but all of that is moot since they never sounded good to begin with), and that the body is small so it sounds small (I've gotten decent tone out of it after dropping $20 on really nice strings, but have always desired a bigger body). That may only be two problems, but they're pretty big deals. Trust me, you won't regret passing on this one and getting something nicer. (Note: I have a friend who has the electric in the Talman series, which I don't think Ibanez makes anymore, but that was one of the best guitars I've ever played . . . interesting).

I bought this guitar a over a year ago. I love it because i usually don't play acoustic but it has a good tone. It is a warm guitar that you can plug in. The eq does the job. This guitar has some style to it too. It isn't just a plain old dreadnought style guitar that everyone has had or has. I love to play this guitar and would play it aat shows too. Just find a good amp set up and your set!
