I tested this pedal used, but you couldn't tell. I had it with a Squier Showmaster and a Fender 15R amplifier. The pedal's settings on TS9 and + are great for rock and blues. I was able to get a good "Raining Blood" tone on the Turbo setting with max gain and about 3/4s on tone. I bought a Boss OS-2 and brought it back because I was disappointed, I don't think I'll ever be disappointed again with this pedal.

I picked one of these pedals up a few years ago and use it more than any other pedal that I've ever owned. At almost every show I've ever gone to over the past 15 years the guitarist usually has one as well. It's not a big "distortion" pedal but it is an absolute classic overdrive predal that I would replace in a heart beat if someone ever stole mine. One bad thing I will say about this pedal, however, is that I dont' think it's worth it to pay a premium over a regular TS9. I've tried the extra modes the DX model has that the regular one doesn't and I honestly never use them at all. Other than that it is a great pedal that I highly recommend.

It doesnt matter what style you play, its tone will blow you away. I went to chicago and spent about 4 hours trying different distortion pedals. When I tested the tubrescreamer I knew that was it. Three words...BUY IT NOW!!

I wondered how I made it without it all these years. Really comes in handy when both guitars are balanced and you need a boost for a lead. I wish I could turn everything all the way up and leave it. But it takes a little control to avoid feedback. REALLY MAKES A TUBE AMP SCREAM. Helps out a solid state alot too....

I primarily play rock or metal with heavy distortion, but sometimes I like to jam a bluesy jam or some snappy jazz. This pedal has the most beautiful, warm sustain I've ever heard. Make sure your signal line is 100% tube or you're just cheating yourself. This pedal really shines on a clean tube channel. I wish I was more poetic to better describe the sound, but just read all the reviews.

Please, don't tell my metal friends how much I love it!
