I bought this to play at home. Just because it was cheap. But I now perform with this every week. Every week. Works great. Sounds great. It's only meant to be used as a solo performers small PA. Not for large halls with a band. I'm so surprised at the sound. Great for the money.

Good Solid Amp

To be honest, I really wanted the Fender Acoustasonic. I played the amp and it sounded great. I liked the features, but the price tag wasn't just right for me. I began to do my homework on-line and I found the Ibanez TA35. After reading several reviews, I decided to give it a go without playing it. Here's what I found:

It does have a nice tone. I read that it didn't really give you a good mid-range, but I found that to be okay. I also read that it wasn't very loud, and I can affirm that statement. You wouldn't want to use this with a heavy handed drummer, at least not without using the line out feature into a PA. I recently used that feature during a live performance and it worked great. I used the amp as a monitor to get a little more of my guitar.

In terms of effects, the chorus and reverb both sound nice. And if used in moderation, they can really add to the tone of your guitar. Now the downside. Mine has a slight buzz when you play the low E string open. If you ever use a palm mute technique, it's worse. Overall, it wasn't noticable live, but I can hear it when I'm playing quietly at home. I haven't tried the mic input. That's not why I bought the amp, so I probably won't use it.

Overall, I'm happy. I don't think that it's better than the Acoustasonic, but it's worth the price you pay for it.

I have just spent a week trying to get a new volume potentiometer for this unit. On the Ibanez Web site, 2003 was the last year you can find parts manuals for acoustic amps. The repair center in the US said Ibanez does not sell amp parts. The only site I found for the part was in CHINA with no US distributer.

I recently purchased this unit after trying it out at the local music store with mics and guitars. It has a great sound when used for it's intended purpose. solo entertainer..no monitor necessary. I can play to a nice size audience in or outdoors. Used it for a couple shows already and I think I could've have sold mine several times. It sounds great and the price is dirt cheap. Highly recommend it.

Wonderful amp

I bought this amplifier for about this price at a local music store near me and was very pleased with it. This amp was the nicest and least expensive of its kind (35 watts). A run use it with an Ovation CC244 celebrity and it sounds wonderful. The controls on it are nice especially the spring reverb and chorus effect. Though if you turn it up too high you will get awful feedback if you are too close to it (I haven't tried from far away). The fact that you can rn a microphone through it too also adds to the features of this amp. The thing that sold if for me though was definitly the price you get this amp much les then the Fenders which are the same. If you want a wonderfully sounding amp without emptying your wallet buy this amp.
