Shocked And Excited.

After being without an acoustic for a while I decided to take a shallow dive. Just something to pluck about the house with. I was shocked and excited when I opened the package. It was playable out of the box and the quality rivals that of guitars twice in price. The wood is beautiful, joints are clean, finish is on par, sound is fantastic and playability is good.
I will probably have a setup done but it is really not a must... After 20 years of playing I will without reservation say this is the best bang for the buck acoustic I have ever owned. As for long haul quality? have to wait and see.
I was looking for a replacement guitar...

I was looking for a replacement guitar for my 12-year old son who has been learning and playing on a Yamaha JR1 for the past year and a half. He has outgrown (and out plays) the Yamaha, but at 4'9'' has problems handling full body guitars.
I came across this guitar, Ibanez SGT110VS, and was immediately drawn by its' perfect size for a smaller guitarist with the slightly shallower body and Grand Concert body shape. I played it for a half hour in store and was very impressed with the action, intonation and clarity. The sound was sweet, vibrant and sustained. Perhaps a bit thin on the bass, but to be expected with the body size and style. The craftsmanship very good.
This particular guitar was a trade-in and had no price listed. I was shocked at the quoted price and would have been willing to pay twice what was asked for! My son is extremely happy with it as I am. It is probably the best value that I have come across in a while.
Its a Sweetheart!!!

I just bought one of these little Ibanez guitars for a friends daughter's 12th birthday. I've played for 40 years and am a professinal guitar tech. In my opinion this is a very nice guitar and great value. The setup was perfect out of the box. Truss rod was adjusted and string heights were prefect, both treble and bass. I started out playing with a Gibson 1967 B-25, which I still own. This guitar reminds a lot of it. Strumming gently or finger picking, you get a nice sweet tone. This guitar is not meant to be strummed hard, no different than the old B-25!. But played softly, it's sweet, for blues, rhythm, finger style etc. The finish is beautiful, tuners good, intonation, right on the money. Premium nut and saddle. Saved me for having to hand make her ones from bone. It mixs a 30's Gibson'ish sunburst with a more modern style headstock, and bridge. I've setup hundreds of inexpensive acoustics. If your in the market for a small bodied economical acoustic, with a vintage flair, for a beginner, or for home studio work, writting, or just something to quietly pick while the wife and kids are watching American Idol, this is your guitar! LOL
Perfect for practice and impromptu jam sessions.

I've been playing 30 years. Prog rock and adult contemporary. I needed a guitar for everyday use so I wouldn't have to get sweat and dings all over my Takamine Specialty Series EF-508C. It had to be small and comfortable to play in my living room where I do my practicing, songwriting and experimentation. I'm very pleased with my new SGT110VS. Inspired by the Martin 00, it's a classic design that's popular with blues guitarists. The worksmanship is solid and the tone is tight and resonant. Better than I expected. Elegantly simple. I didn't see the tortoise shell pickguard in the photo (that was a pleasant surprise) and the pearloid rosette is convincing. It's not loud at all but its intimate-yet-full voice compliments my singing voice. As with all my steel-strings, I put medium strings on it, tuned it down a whole step, then put a capo at the second fret. I also shaved a few mm off the bottom of the saddle and took about 1/4 turn off the truss rod. This setup lowers both the action and the string tension and improves the feel. Medium strings produce more volume with less excursion, eliminating string buzz. It's easier on my arthritis but anyone who fingerpicks would probably like it. My only minor criticism is that, while the sunburst finish is gorgeous, the clear coat is pretty delicate. Two hours of playing and my sweat is taking the shine off it. No matter. It's suppose to look like a pre-WWII Martin. All this means is it'll look like an antique in no time. Normally I'd worry about ordering a guitar sight-unseen through the mail, this site's policies assure my satisfaction and this order went off without a hitch. I have no regrets at all and would, and probably will, do it again.
Great guitar

This guitar is the best. It is worth a lot more. I have played Takamine and epiphone guitars and I prefer this over them. It has a better feel with the neck and stays in tune for days. The strings it comes with are great but I would recommend replacing them with ernie ball power slinky strings.
