Ok so after having this for a couple months i found there are some problems. First of all it goes out of tune fast if you use the whammy bar too much. Second i found that the pickups were a little to hot for my taste. Also the paint chips easy. But on the other hand it is very VERY lite wait which is great. The neck is very smooth and had no sharp edges. I also was very impressed with the tone pot, it gives you a wide range of tones. OH and one more thing, i do NOT recomend puting anything above a 11 gauge set of strings because the top bass string gets a bit muddy after that. Overall great bang for the buck and i would recomend it to anyone wether just starting on a 7 or has been playing 7s for a while.

This guitar is great... I've had it for close to two years, have been playing for 9, and I think it is the best guitar you can find for the value. It works wonderfully for playing clean, and even better for distortion. Personally, I put some EMG 707TW's in there, but the stock pickups are surprisingly good compared to other Ibanez's. With some new pickups, sounds better than a lot of the $1000 or more guitars I've played, though not all. Performs great at a show and fun to play at home. The only downside I can find is that there is only one knob for each; tone and level, but other than that you probably will not find a better deal for this amount of quality.

I just received this guitar and after about 2 hours of fine tuning, this guitar screams. I did some home remedies (restrung 10-56, action, tuning to drop a standard, and intonation). I have never had a guitar capable of such effortless harmonics and brutal tone. The neck is extremely fast a fluid. I have never owned a 7 string before and this was no mistake. the tone is fat, excellent sustain and the brand new strings I put on stayed in tune after only a few minutes of breaking them in. The zr trem (although a bit complicated)is comfortable for muting and the return springs allow more feel so you don't release dives too quickly. Couldn't be happier with the guitar. Extremely light, looks killer. Can't wait to get it through a gig but with my setup, the pickups were excellent and very quiet with a noise supressor in front of the amp. Very much recommend to the player who will use the entire fret board and not just the low string(use a washburn if you just want to be trendy) use this to compose music with. Buy with confidence.

Let me start off by saying that I immediately upgraded to Dimarzio X2N-7 bridge and D-Sonic 7 neck pickups when I bought this guitar. With this combo, however, this guitar is incredible. The body shape feels great, the neck plays great, and the sound from the mahogany is amazing. I've shopped around Carvin and the Ibanez prestige series, and I see no reason whatsoever to upgrade. The tremolo works fantastic, is very smooth, and the guitar stays in tune for months. Very strongly recommend.

A lot of people are complaining about the treble in the pickups, but I haven't noticed it, really. Might just be my tone or playing style. It feels good in my hands, it's nice and light. The ZR trem is better than the Floyd Rose on my strat, and setting the intonation is a breeze with the staggered bolts and built in intonation tool.

My only complaint is that the neck/body joint seems a little unstable. If I lean back or forward far enough, the guitar detunes slightly. Probably fixable, though. I love it. Best guitar I've owned.
