This guitar is one of the best guitars I've ever played! The single Seymour Duncan and the EDGE Pro is really all you need. For the price, I mean, come on! You'll probably never find a better guitar for the price. It even sounds and plays better than a Gibson Les Paul Standard and any other Gibson/Epiphone that I had or played! Also, THIS IS THE GUITAR FOR VAN HANLEN FANATICS! If you are, like me, then get this instead of his Charvel or $25,000 Fender! Other than an ESP M2, this the best METAL guitar out there! Can't wait to get it for Christmas and play it through my Peavey Triple X Stack!

I have been looking for the right guitar to fit my Metal crushing taste for some time now and I can say the search is over! The RG2610E is everytihng you need in a super-fast crunch guitar thts appearance closely resembles a hi end sports car. The price is great as well! Sleek and glossy with a pin stripe to finish the touches she's easy on the eyes and ears! Coming from a Les Paul backround the RG, provides the same crunching bottom end as the Les Paul but sores miles above with its hi, tight, and crisp edgy top end. Favorite features are the sleek neck, the single Seymour is all you need! and its over all appearance is perfect. Great Balance and no matter how much over-drive I cranked up the RG kept things crisp and Dirty! I'm definetley adding one to my collection when the student loan comes in next Semester!!! I recommend everyone who's interested to go find one and take er for a test drive; you wont be able to put her down!!

This guitar is great for the price and then some. I would honestly suggest it to anyone looking for the sound it's gonna provide. It gives you deep nice bottom end but doesn't get muddy and it still retains it's clarity with a nice bright edgy sound that isnt too bright. I have one problem though....musicians friend has some wrong information apparently. The pickup in it is an actual Seymour Duncan Full Shred TB-10 Trembucker, the same pickup used by riggs of rob zombie and a couple other popular players. Oh and it's an Edge Pro Bridge not an edge 3 which pales in comparison of the Edge Pro and the neck is a prestige neck. So basically buy it for heavy riffing and hardcore shit, not for jazz and stuff like that they make hollowbodys for that reason.

Case:

Sweet heavy duty case. Plush thru and thru. Better than any USA Jackson case I've seen.

APPEARANCE:

BEAUTIFUL!!! This guitar is a masterpiece of a paint job and finish. From headstock to strap button it is perfect. The only appearance gripe that I have a little is that the fretboard looks dry. I hit it with some Dunlop Ultimate Lemon fretboard oil and it is great now. Other than that it is incredible craftsmanship through and through/inside the body cavity and out. The faded shark inlays play tricks on me knowing where I am on the board. Not a problem with my RG, but the guitar has a different look so it through me off.

SETUP:

Not good. Well, the neck is first new guitar that bowed toward the fretboard instead of toward the back. I had to immediately loosen the truss rod. The bow wasn't big, but it was obvious when I looked down the neck from the bottom. After the truss adjustment, I had to lower the bridge about a half turn on each side for low & fast non buzz action. Other than that I had to adjust the spring screws because I like the trem perfectly level to use forward or backward. And, I tune down 1/2 step. I am very particular, so after the first adjustment I played a while and after hitting the trem some it was very slightly raised, so I adjusted it flush again. I think it is because of it being new and the springs being stiff. I also moved the springs around. I have a secret (not really) to keep more tension on the 42's and 1 spring on the 9 side. It is still good now, but I expect some tweeking in the next few weeks.

FEEL:

Definitely not as fast as my RG 550. The neck is unfinished and has an unplayed sticky feel. I can't wait until I break it in. The neck is the prestige neck and I expected it a little faster. It will just take a little getting used to. Not as fat as my DK1 neck though. I am really going to enjoy every second breaking it all in. Surprisingly heavier than the RG and my DK1. I guess it is because it is not routed much. More weight in the neck.

SOUND:

After further review, I really love the sound of the Full Shred. The volume was too low last night to get the true sound out. I guess it is numbered differently because it is specifically made for Ibanez, but it actually does provide a lot of harmonics and crunch with a lot of pure tone. It does remind me of the "brown" sound from the first Van Halen record. Not the brown sound from the Ernie Ball's or the Wolfgangs. Very classic rock/metal/hair metal guitar. Not thrash metal though. The cleans a very clear and nice. I really like this pickup at higher volumes. I may adjust it down a smidge from the strings because of the bridge adjustment. I think it is the perfect 1 pickup guitar though.

FINAL THOUGHTS:

Looking at the axe it seems funny to me not to see a neck pickup. But I keep thinking to myself that it doesn't matter because I don't use the neck anyway. So as far as looks, it'll take me a little while to get used to it. But, I love the idea that not many people play it or will play it because it has 1 pickup and I only use one anyway. To tell you the truth. Until I saw this one I was going to make my own frankenstein with one pickup anyway. This is perfect. I can't wait to get outside in the jam area when it warms up here in Germany and crank the Marshall. The guys are gonna love the tone of this axe. I love everything about it.

If you buy it, make them give you a professional setup.
