Fantastic Guitar

I own a Gibson Les Paul Standard, a Fender American Deluxe Fat Strat, a Peavey T-60, and the Ibanez RG1570. I saw Dave Uhrich play an Ibanez guitar years ago but didn’t know what model it was. I then discovered Joe Satriani so I decided to buy the RG1570 and replaced the pickups with DiMarzio PAF and FRED pickups. I did this to try and simulate the JS1200 for a lot less money. This guitar is a sleeper and one of the best-kept secrets in the world of guitars. The DiMarzio pickups work great in this guitar and it is the most versatile guitar I own. It will play clean channels with no distortion and even does a respectable job simulating an acoustic guitar with the right effects. It will play blues with the best of them and if you want screaming sustain that goes on for days this guitar does it with ease. From clean, to blues, to shedder extraordinaire, through Marshall or Fender amps, this amazing guitar is the axe to own. I’d never sell it and if it were ever stolen I’d buy another one in a heartbeat.

RG 1570 (reverse headstock)

I have the reverse headstock version of this guitar which was bought from Musicians Friend.

Overall very happy, but there are some things to note.

Pros: * Best tremolo - no need to cut string balls, stays in tune perfectly. * Neck is FAST! * Overall look and features wonderful.

Cons: * Stock pickups are the worst. Very muddy, an embarressment. Surprised Ibanez even uses these. Had to switch them out immediately. * The neck, while fast, is a little too thin and flat. My particular gripe is how thin the neck is. It's not easy to hold while doing bends on certain strings. * The frets are somewhat "boxy" and gold in color. I even polished them and they did not turn much more silver. Wish these were stainless steel.

I've had this guitar for 7 years now. In those 7 years I've acquired nearly 2 dozen other guitars of all types and this is by far still my favorite. Nothing feels wrong about it.

I have had this guitar for about 9 months and I love it. The neck is very comfortable and fastand very smooth. The tremolo is quite nice, it will come out of tune eventually especially if you reef on it, but I tune mine every two to three weeks and it holds the tune quite well.

I think this guitar is more versatile than most people give it credit for, yes it plays metal and hard rock very nicely which is what it was more geared for, but I use this at church and clean with some reverb and tremolo this thing will sound quite nice. I will say that I do have a tone zone in the neck and a super distortion in the bridge wich o help better the tone but the single coil which is still stock is quite nice and I enjoy it.

Yes changing strings is a hassle and is time consuming but they don't break very often and adjusting the bridge and everything is not too hard.

Very nice guitar great bridge/tremolo plays fast and smooth. You won't be disappointed

Very good bang for buck

This is the first guitar I have purchased in nearly 10 years, and have to say things have come a long way. My background is ESP and Gibson and in all honesty, this is not far behind my KH2 neck through. Playability is excellent, very minor fret buzz towards the nut, but minimal. The trem definately feels more controllable than the rose setups, the only thing I don't like is having the single coil in the middle, takes getting used to and has required me to rework my pick attack a bit. Very good overall quality, for stock pickups these are excellent, very rounded and versatile.
