Like other Ibanez this is a great guitar. Also like other Ibanez very lite. This will be my second Ibanez. Due to I'm not taking my 1977 Ibanez Les Paul Custom to a live show

Get an LTD

Honestly, this guitar is nice but it's not spectacular. First off, it does not have an "oil" finish...it is a sprayed on "coating" and it isn't very durable. If your pick hits the body a few good times, you end up with marks that indent the wood (I have refinished 2 of these for friends, so I'm speaking from experience here). As for the bridge: it certainly is beefy, but it doesn't do anything whatsoever for sustain or tone. I have other guitars with tune-o-matic bridges that kill this one in tone and have equal or better sustain. I believe that a person should be able to lower their strings as much as they want to...you can't do that with this bridge because it has a metal baseplate that prevents you from dropping the action past a certain point. I had to remove the base plate and route out the bridge cavity just to drop the action to my liking. The pickups are mediocre..nothing to jump up and down about, really. Over all, my ESP LTD baritone has more features, a better finish and came stock with EMG pickups (and it sounds MUCH better), and still costs a couple hundred less than the MMM1. Don't buy this just because Staind has one hit song, people. It's not a good enough guitar for the price.

This guitar is HEAVY!

And when I say HEAVY I don't only mean the Bone Jarring tone that is produced by the High Output Custom 58 Humbucker's. Im talking about the weight! The massive feel of the MMM1 lets you know that you are dealing with a serious piece of equipment. The beefy 3 piece Mahogany Body and Neck produce Fatter, Heavier tones, while the Custom Gibralter Bridge and String thru Body design offers amazing sustain. While the Custom 58 High Output Humbucker's produce more gain and distortion then any other stock or after-market pick-up I've had installed by Seymour Duncan or DiMarzio. And not only does the MMM1 produce more distortion then any other guitar I've played, the Custom 58's also produce some of the warmest and deepest clean tones I've ever heard, which has opened up a new door in my song writing and improv sessions. Absolutly the BEST guitar I've owned!

BARITONE ADDICT

For my big hands, the baritone is it, and the MMM1 is the most BS-free guitar I've ever owned. It's a simple design and just downright functional. Great feel to it. The neck angle and bridge placement really facillitate a good right hand position. The knobs and switch never get in the way.
This thing stays in tune for weeks, and I'm not kidding. It seems like the longer scale really minimizes tuning issues. At the present moment, I have mine tuned from B to B with a set of Baritone Slinky strings
(13/18/30w/44/56/74 - huge low B)
With those strings on, I'll play a low B power chord through my Marshall, and let me tell you, it truly is the MEANEST guitar sound I've ever heard. I'm amazed every time I hear it. Great clean tones from all 3 positions too! Even in standard tuning (which I use most of the time with GHS Eric Johnsons), it's a great sounding guitar. I'm playing my Strat a lot less these days.
Cheers to Mike Mushok for designing such a great instrument. Impress yourself and all your friends and go buy one. I promise you'll dig it.

I love this guitar. I bought one about 2 yrs ago and sold it. I totally regret selling it, but I bought another one about a week ago. The only thing about this guitar I don't like, is the pickups. They are nice for clean tones, but I prefer high output. I'm changing the brdg. pickup but I'll keep the neck pickup. Overall, a great guitar.
