Ibanez has more experience with solid-body 7-string electric guitars than any other guitar maker. This Ibanez K7APEX2 7-string was designed with Munky from Korn. It features U.S.A. made DiMarzio PAF-7 pickups designed specifically for the extended 7-string range.

The right bridge and nut spacing is why Ibanez 7-string guitar necks feel like guitar necks - not like bats. Transition from 6- to 7-string playing techniques is effortless.

K-7 features A-D-G-C-F-A-D factory-tuning for Korn's signature low-end crunch. A string-thru-body design and tune-o-matic-style bridge take sustain to new lengths, and an Apex inlay at the 12th fret finishes the look.

Ibanez K7APEX2 7-String Electric Guitar Features:

  • 12th fret Apex inlay
  • Mahogany body
  • String-thru-body construction
  • 24/Jumbo frets
  • K7 Prestige neck
  • 5pc. Maple/ Wenge Neck Material
  • DiMarzio PAF-7 (H) Neck PU
  • DiMarzio PAF-7 (H) Bridge PU

If you want big results, start with a big axe. This one gets down, ALL the way down. Put it in the cart.

Versatile axe with a neck that will grow on you

I've had this axe for about 3 months now. I bought it with the matching Ibanez hardshell case, which I would highly recommend. I've played ESPs and Schecters until I srpung for this Ibby, and the biggest difference is the feel of the neck. The Ibanez has a much thinner neck than other guitars I've owned... it was difficult to adjust at first, but I have come to love the feel and playability of the Ibanez. I have also only owned guitars with active pickups- the Dimarzio PAFs are much more organic-sounding than EMGs. The low end is much more pronounced, and there is a less harsh top end than with EMGs. Chords have so much more clarity, which is a huge beef I had with EMGs. The hardware is all top-notch... the tuners, bridge, and electronics seem like they will last for quite a while. The aesthetics are just my cup of tea, too- I love the flat finish, because it is so resilient against scratches, and the plain maple fretboard is very classy. All that said, I this price is a bit high for this axe. Schecter 7-strings are very good- but it all depends on your taste in neck size.

Well, this is my first 7 string and I am throughly pleased with it. I really enjoy the playablility and the nice neck this guitar has. The pickups are not the hottest sounding ones compared to other models but you can crank out KoRn like no ones business on this thing. The only downside to this guitar is the one volume knob, but some people don't like it, I do, but some people just don't so I don't thinks its fair to give a guitar 5 on everything. But, string through is good, it makes up for those who complain about one knob. I wish Head was still in KoRn, but I am glad that he quit drugs for his daughter and to live for God, he gets a lot of respect from me for that. Rock on!

I played this thing and it is very good. The Dimarzio PAF pickups are really good. What bothers me is the simple controls, one volume and a 3 way. The neck is one of the few Ibanez necks that I like. In my opinion you're paying quite a bit for not that much. You could get another mohogany bodied 7 string with more features and these pickups for cheaper than this guitar.

I just received mine a few days ago, fresh out of the box. The flat green finish looked great dark and letahal. The RG style body gives it an aggressive look that can rival even the "most attractive" lookin guitars in its price range. Equipped with Dimarzio PAFs, your sure to get that low end crunch that'll raise the dead! Cons; No case?No locking tremolo? Strings may need to be changed if you like to play in the deep end. Overall though, its an exquisite guitar for the price.

This guitar is an amazing guitar for the price. The wood is really good. The pickups are great. Also it's really smooth and looks really beautiful in person. Perfect if you want to play some brutal music! PLUS, it's an IBANEZ ha. SO GET THIS 7-STRING!
