George Benson took jazz guitar to a whole new level. With Ibanez, he took THE jazz guitar to a new level as well. From the inlaid ebony bridge and tailpiece to the binding on the top, back, fretboard, peghead, and even on the f-holes, this is one amazing guitar. Its looks are further enhanced by a sunburst multi-ply pickguard, distinctive pearl bi- and tripartite fretboard inlays, and floral peghead inlay. Maple on the back and sides provides crisp projection that's mellowed by the carved solid spruce top. 2 Super 58 humbuckers deliver a warm, fat signal suited to the liquid stylings of GB himself and the neck dimensions are his optimum formula for free movement and ease of play.

Ibanez GB200 Electric Guitar Features:

  • GB neck dimensions
  • 3-piece mahogany/maple neck
  • Maple back and sides
  • Carved spruce top
  • Ebony bridge, tailpiece
  • 20-fret bound ebony fretboard with pearl inlays
  • Two Super 58 humbuckers
  • One strap button behind the tailpiece (strap can be tied to neck or another pin can be installed)

I just bought this brand new Ibanez Gb-200 and it arrived a month ago. It's absolutely superb. And it's the most confortable jazz archtop I've ever played. Great feeling Great tone all 5's. Played thru a Polytone and straight in line and the sound is Benson 100%. Anyhow you need to have Benson's hands and thinking to sound like him. I apreciate this guitar more than the Gb 10 cuz it has a more Jazz oriented sound Very Very Warm and Nice. With a little drive it can give you a very Scofieldish feel to it. And with both pickups and the treble rolled off a bit you can get a nice funky sound. I love this guitar and I woudlnt sell it for anything else. It's a must have.

Great tone, playability and attention to detail are obvious here. This is my second new Ibanez purchase(GB200 & AF207) and both guitars were setup and ready to play right out of the box! The GB200 is a nice alternative to the Gibson ES175.

If you are a jazzer this is THE instrument. However, I found the feel of the neck to be a bit cheap like plastic, and the output is a little low. Aside from that, the guitar sounds great and I'm pleased with it.

GB200 WILL FEEDBACK

George Benson when on Larry King Live, CNN, played the GB200 and it was noticed that he placed a piece of Cellophane tape over the top F hole. When asked about this, it was mentioned that feed back is a problem on this guitar. This is not the case with the GB10 series!

I had an Ibanez Joe Pass signature JP20 from 1980 and it's the best jazz guitar I never play. Now I buy This George Benson and it's so good like the Joe Pass. For me the Joe Pass is a 10 guitar and this one itīs near so good. If you want a good jazz guitar at a good price maybe it's your choice.
