A great guitar at a great price

Ibanez EW20ASE- I've had this guitar for the last 8 months and really love to play it. I use it regularly at open mic nights and it hasn't failed me. It stays in tune, the action is set at a nice level for me. The multiple options for plugging it in help as well. I've received many compliments about the wood. I think the guitar produces a nice bright tone with good sustain. I sort of thought that it should be able to produce better deep tones since it has a jumbo body, but for the price, you really can't be too choosy.
Bottom line:
Pro's- it plays like a dream, it looks great, the preamp works great, the tuner is dead on and easy to use,it sounds great plugged in or not.
Con's- I wish it had some deeper bass tone, I wish it had markings on the fret board other than at the 12th fret. Soloing on stage with dim lights, can be a challenge without them.

Well i first purchased it at a little shop in Texas and not long after getting it home to Alabama the preamp went out.. The warranty covered it and was taken back to texas on a later trip.. I got it back and played it twice in church and the preamp again went out.. I sent it to bailey brothers and it has now been fixed and has been working great and i love it.. great look (i get comments all the time) one bad thing is that it requires a jumbo gator case so it's bulky to carry around but other than all that it's been amazing..

Rich Sustain and a Dream to Play!

I walked into my local music store today to test out different acoustics and see which ones feel and sound the best for my style which is fingerstyle music. I was willing to pay $1000 for a breedlove, but after going back and forth with this one I couldnt find a guitar in the store that sounded as rich and resonant as this ibanez. It baffled the hell out of me. Why is it only $399? This guitar is a steal. Oh yeah and the neck fits my hand like a glove, and plays like butter with very low action. It feels like a highend taylor, but has a sound like no other guitar. I have a Epi masterbilt, larrivee, and taylor, and I like the feel and sound of this one out of them all for solo fingerstyle playing.

Still my baby...

I bought mine two years ago this month, and it's still my baby (at least until I get my LP Studio). It sounds amazing. The ash has a healthy resonance, and its light but smooth, vivid tone matches my high baritone voice well. It is a little tinny when plugged in, like any piezo system. But the EQ and notch filter help alleviate that.
The action is low, just like I like it. You might want to have it set up for you. I recently switched from custom light to light and it's buzzing a bit when I strum hard. But that might be my strumming too...
Check the electronics - two of the three I looked at had cracking in the finish near the electronics. It doesn't affect the sound and it's pretty much unnoticeable to anyone but me, but it's an imperfection nonetheless.
Every time I bring this guitar somewhere, people comment on its amazing looks. The figured ash is astonishing. One recommendation - go play a few of them first. I played three and they all sounded and looked different.

This is the guitar that broke my heart. For a year it was a delight to play and look at. Then, the neck started doing weird things. Never saw such warping. Luckily I bought the extended warranty from a popular music chain here in New Eng. Unluckily, each one they had in the entire chain has problems. Am I seeing a trend here. Now I wait for a new one from the factory. God only knows what I'll get.
