i play guitar in a popular band,and my main axes are deans razorback dime,72 gibson custom les paul,brian moore,and 2 eb/musicman petruccis,as this is what our music demands.last year i purchased an upper model ibanez solid body for a couple evanesence covers.i was immediately in love with this jacked up muscle machine. i was recently asked to do some fill work for a friend who is releasing his second blues cd.he told me what he wanted from me,and i had nothing that would give me the tones he required. since i would not be using it alot i passed on gretsch,guild and went to the artcore series.the prices were right,the tones were versatile,and i found the sound he wanted.as i stood there trying to decide,my buddy came out of the stockroom with this model.the looks themselves are mind bendinding,but playing it was butter.i researched it,and found very little negative reviews.from pro to novice,the concensus was similar.he let me borrow it for the studio,and it was raved over.so i called ,gave my credit card to my buddy,and said it was not coming back.

I was looking around at guitars in the price range. I just wanted to get a cheap semi hollow or full hollowbody. I was playing the different types of epiphones and fenders ect and than I started looking at Ibanez. I'm a brand guy; got my gibson and fender and prefer not to buy a cheaper fender or a subsidiary of gibson. When I first saw this guitar it looked great I figured the sound would be worse considering the price but it's fantastic. I tried out several of the art series and they're all quality get one I am!

Being my first Ibanez, I really didn't know what to expect. I own several solid body guitars, Gibson, Fender, Epiphone, Dean, BC Rich etc. but until now, no semi's.

I was pleasantly surprised by the tone and range of this guitar. Playing through a Fender Princeton and a Line 6 Spider II, I was very happy with the various sounds I could pull from this.

I've been playing guitar for 7 years and my older brother for more than 13 and we both own this guitar. For a hollow-body, its the right price for everyone, but I bought mine in-store and he bought his on-line and the intonation on frets 6-21 are severely off, by almost a half-step on the higher frets. This obviously creates a problem for most guitarists, but if it doesn't for you, I get a great tone out of it and otherwise have had no problems.

These are just amazing guitars! Plays extremely well, has wonderful tone, and killer looks. Easily a better choice than many of the other Artcores out there. If you're looking for a hollowbody, this will not disappoint you!
