To me, it plays like a gibson and the sound of bb king. I just love jamming out on BB king when I have a chance. This guitar works really good with distortion too. Lots of sustain and a nice tone if you want to do buddy guy blues or even just rock-metal. I'm really happy I got this guitar. It looks amazing. I highly recommend the transparent cherry. The picture looks horrible but in person it's awesome. So stop reading this review and buy this guitar.

I can't believe how great this guitar is! The action is great, the pickups are great, and the finish is great. This guitar plays amazing, and is such a great price compared to a $2,000 gibson ES-135. This is my favorite guitar and even the pickups are great for playing with distortion pedals because they have different characteristics. Buy this now!

Beautiful 'burst

I picked this up from Musicians Friend as a class 2, blemished item. A surface blemish on the back was so small as to be almost unnoticeable, perhaps the actual blemish was a bad nut. The nut is cut so deep and so poorly as to make the guitar non-functional, it simply will not play while set to standard tuning due to binding at the nut slots. Because I purchased at a deep discount, I do not mind paying my luthier to custom cut a new bone nut for the guitar. I am assuming that this flaw was the cause for the class 2 blemish.

Other than that, the binding is some of the prettiest I have ever seen including thousand dollar Les Pauls. Beautiful finish, nice pickups and electronics, good tuners from what I can feel of them now. As someone else has noted, the bridge pickup is a bit bright, almost shrill, back that tone knob down. The middle position is pure creamy jazz. Neck is nice and plays well if soloing alone. All in all a great guitar and would have scored higher if not for the nut. A tremendous value for the discounted price.

Great Guitar

I have been playing guitar for about 4 years now I guess and I have an acoustic guitar and an electric guitar with single coil pick-ups, so I recently purchased a transparent cherry Ibanez Artcore AS73 electric guitar. It has the chrome hardware which adds to its beauty. It has a set neck rather than one bolts on so you can expect it to have more sustain. It has two humbucker pick-ups instead of single coils which are supposed to have higher gain. After having the guitar for a little while and playing it, I can easily tell a difference in the humbuckers and the set neck when compared to my guitar that has a neck that’s bolted on and single coil pick-ups. It is a very beautiful guitar and it plays great. You will not be disappointed if you were to buy this guitar.
