Punk-Hardcore madness

I've been playing guitar for about 8 years now, and among my guitar collection I felt it was time to get a semi-hollow. Being in various punk-hardcore acts, (black-flag, minor threat-esque) I needed a semi-hollow that would give me minimal feedback but plenty of crunch. I play through a randall half-stack and this guitar makes my randall sound like a top-of-the-line LTD. I love it.

Ibanez Artcore AGS83BATF.What a great value! This is an excellent guitar, was setup perfectly for me when I pulled it out of the box.Solid guitar ready to play, just plug in and go.Rich Humbucker sound at the neck, will bite you at the bridge.I play rockin blues and this guy is the ticket for me.Rhythm guitarist's will love the action and feel. The electronics control the volume and tone at any level.Guitar is comfortable to wear evenly balanced and not heavy.Fit and finish well done.

This guitar is amazing! The other guitarist in my band has it and it use it more than my own razorback. The sound and feel are absolutely amazing! we tune down to Drop C and Drop B and the tuning stays and it still PWNs in sound! Great price. This guitar is a steal for advanced players. Also great for beginners.

It's a great looking guitar and has a great tone too. If you're looking for thick distorted humbucker tones for metal this is not the guitar for you. That's the mistake I made. This guitars made for jazz, and blues and some rock. The finish is great though it doesn't look much like the picture its much brighter and the flamed maple looks great. Mine had a pickguard but they dont put that on anymore its a shame too.

The features are already covered. They are mostly as advertised. The quality however for me was disappointing in several areas. I've been playing a long time, and currently use about 10 guitars that run the gamut from very rare US made collectors, to imports from all over...so I know quality, and bang for buck. While I love the antique finish on the body, the neck doesn't match. It's got way too much orange in the base color, kind of a burnt orange burst. Maybe it will darken with age. As it is, I would have preferred a matching body/neck color scheme or even a flat black on the neck. The frets on this guitar are not as well dressed as my son's Cheap Ibanez. A few burrs on the 14th through 16th frets, lower bout. The worst part is the truss rod is locked. The finish may darken, the frets I can have filed, but the truss rod is a big freakin' deal. There are the negatives. Here's the good: The black chrome hardware is awesome, the guitar I received didn't have the pickguard, which looks so much better to my eyes. The quality of workmanship on the inlays and headstock is stunning. Even the F-holes are finished better than a $4000 PRS I looked at in a music store the other day. The pickups sound very good, I doubt if I'd ever want to replace them. The hardware is good overall. The pots are ok, but the pickup selector switch is cheap feeling. At some point a person would want to upgrade. Overall, this is a very stunning guitar to look at. It sounds very good. But the neck finish and truss rod are downers. Seem I just got a bad one. If you have an extra $ and can do without the extras, get the PRS SE.
