my favorite guitar

i've had this guitar for about 3 years now and i love it. this was not always the case because there were some minor issues. i needed to replace an input and the stock tuners were garbage, but other than that nothing too big. it also took me a long time to appreciate the sound of it because i had been used to solidbody guitars with single coil pickups, so it was hard to like the tone. but my dad, who helped me pick it out, was right when he said it would grow on me. this was especially true when i started modifying it. i scalloped the frets, got new seymour ducan jazz humbuckers, lowered the action, and switched the nut and bridge to graphite. it sounds beautiful now ands plays like a dream. i've played it in 4 bands now, all entirely different genres, and it just fits. treat yourself to this guitar, because i'm that even though they don't have it in that weird surf green/turquoise finish anymore, you'll still love it.

I have the same model, but without the tremelo (Don't know how that happened). The cracks and crevises are dust magnets, but that's an easy fix. This guitar is really great for the price. I say that the only guitar better (for me) is a Schecter C-1 Classic. The only complaint is that it has an ackward look/feel when you are using distortion pedals (maybe that's just me).

Awsome guitar great sound for anything. 3 main problems. 1st the vibrato doesn't stay in tune well when it is used. 2nd the bridge isn't connected to the guitar so if it is bumped it can shift alittle. 3rd the back screw holding the strap in to the butt of the guitar didn't bite well, but that was a QUICK easy and free fix Over all a great guitar though!

I just got this guitar a couple of days ago and I am amazed at the quality of the fit and finish on this inexpensive guitar. I spent an hour going over the guitar to find a flaw, but I could not find one. The pickups are more than adaquate, and the controls are typical Gibson style setup. My only complaint is the location of the selector switch. It sits under the vibrato arm and can be hard to reach if you use the vibrato frequently. The guitar is pretty well set up out of the box. I'll play with string height and intonation when I replace the strings. The strings it comes with are not the best, and should be replaced ASAP. I highly recommend this guitar for beginners, or experienced players who have a need for a hollow body guitar and don't want to invest a lot of cash. I was originally looking at the lower priced Gretsch's but changed my mind when I directly compared the Gretsch to the Ibanez.

Not too shabby guitar

Let me begin by saying that the guitar sounds good and the humbuckers are more than adequate. However, the quality leaves a little to be desired. The nut has chipped for no reason at the bass side edge, although the low e string still stays in its slot. Also on the model I purchased (black with sparkles) the hardware appears to be corroding. (Either that, or it was purposely coated to make it look "distressed"). I would buy it again, but the plant where this is manufactured need to tighten up QC.
